Another month, another problems, but let's hope everyone will be happy with Adsense this month. May the force be with you!
Now to the point - Huge clawback for September earnings - like 8% , which is high three digit...

Today I see horrific eCPM! I always check for international Holidays and is a holiday in India, but this usually means less traffic and more money :)

Yep, holiday/festival in India resulted in a massive drop in both traffic and earnings. All are busy firing the crackers!

@Ironside - £6 RPM is pretty good, what is the CTR?
Ironside
8:27 pm on Oct 19, 2017 (gmt 0)
@ivok to be honest, I can't exactly remember what the CTR was. However, it's normally anywhere between 1.5% & 3%.

Adsense for Content is dead. I'm moving now to a different platform which is video and voice. I think that is the future. It helps a lot since I'm already a video editor and animator. So far earning is great. I don't want to be overly confident but I see the future is bright for me. Fingers crossed.

The problem remains, that there is no real alternative to Adsense for medium/big publishers. Yes, Adsense is dead/dying and for years Google is only helping advertisers, keeping the publishers in fear and misery.
The freemium internet access model has a problem; the economy has a problem! There are no Haloween ads and I see that in the last 2 years all campaigns are very focused; no more branding.

Something very weird happened to my site since yesterday: the CPC is through the roof: 0.44 euros / per click (usually it's like 0.12)... but hardly any clicks.
Has any of you had such a thing ?

When the CTR is low, the CPC is on the rise.

@jbayabas Which video ad platform do you suggest instead of adsense?

Pretty awful today to be honest. In fact, the last couple of days have been very disappointing. Plenty of clicks just very low CPC at around 10p.

anyone noticed yesterday and today a higher CPC rate? It's almost 3X-4X more than usually with me, and for the same countries.

It's amazing how one day can differ from the other. Yesterday was quite dismal. Today looks like it might be quite good. At the moment Page rpm is at £6.87 and my CPC is 32p. I've only had six clicks so far this morning, however, I would imagine that that 32p will probably end up around 15p late this evening so as long as I get the clicks it should be a good day.

@Ironside may I ask which countries is your traffic from? is it UK?
Ironside
1:49 pm on Oct 21, 2017 (gmt 0)
I'm at 16 clicks, my CPC is still 30p and my page rpm has actually increased to £7.47
The lion's share of my earnings come from the US. Then its UK second with countries like Canada, Australia and India being the next most popular.

@Ironside how's the Indian traffic with Adsense? is it worth it or just 0.01$ per click? I barely have Indian traffic to my website, but not sure if it's worth trying to get some through cheap promotions on Facebook for example

If you can tell me where I go to my account to find specific information such as how much clicks were worth from India then I will have a look and let you know

@Ironside In the home page click on the "Performance report" on the left side of the page, then up you will see "Report type" choose countries and you will find the details each country the amount of clicks, revenue, impressions etc...
Also on the upper right side, you will see the time frame of your reports you can choose, today, yesterday, 7 days, 30 days, etc...

Unfortunately India seems pretty rubbish so far this month. I've had 60 clicks, CTR 0.60% but the CPC is 3p and impression rpm is 12p
If you compare this to be United States then I've had 584 clicks, CTR 0.18%, CPC is 12p and impression rpm is 97p. I quite often get CPC much more than 12p. I'm still at 29p today with 18 clicks. It's still very early for me, there are still 12 hours of US traffic to go so today should be slightly above average. Probably get 60 clicks minimum, I don't normally get much less than this each day. Obviously from those I'm only getting 8p CPC which obviously makes a big difference in the earnings compared to 30p..

For 2017 after several thousand clicks my Indian average is $0.065 meaning 1,538 clicks per month are required to get to the minimum payout.

Indian traffic for me isn't good as well. 14 clicks for around 0.5$ But still better than some Asian or African countries who pay 0.01$ per click and they are not so expensive to get.

"Adsense for Content is dead. I'm moving now to a different platform which is video and voice"
What do you mean by 'Adsense for Content is dead'? There are many niches that do not lend themselves to video and voice. Written content will always be king in those. And the days of writing content for adsense are long gone. Adsense will keep doing well for people who have good sites. Just write content that people want to read, watch, or hear. Other than some instructional type material, videos mostly do well with entertainment content. But I do find auto loading videos (ads or content) on sites extremely annoying.

I think you've got to get a lot of visitors on YouTube videos to make any money. I probably make about £4 a month from both my channels.
I have to agree that AdSense for content is certainly not dead. That's my bread and butter when it comes to my AdSense earnings. My particular niche has remained small and there is no sign of anyone becoming a serious competitor. If you've got a hobby that you know a lot about then you are three quarters of the way there already.

I really believe that "adsense for content" is a misnomer. It should just be adsense. It's really adsense for traffic or adsense for clicks ;p. Build traffic first, money comes after. When things go down, the first I do is to figure out ways to generate more content and traffic. RPM is trending UP.

Adsense is hardly dead. My RPM is the highest it has been in years.
