RedBar you do sound miserable

Far from it, I've never been so happy in years, now if you were to say I am more than frustrated with Google, then you would be totally correct.

Thousands of global webmasters have tried to comply with Google's diktats with absolutely no benefits whatsoever. Realistically, for me, it all started with their massive images theft a few years ago and since then they have done more and more to favour their friends with absolutely nothing for those who ACTUALLY created their search engine which is now simply an advertising engine.

Honestly, their SERPs is an utter mess for my industry unless one is called Pinterest, Houzz, Gardenweb or the new emulator of these, Homeluf, it's a freakin' joke, simply fill pages with loads of keyword images and keyword text, no matter whether it is correct or not, usually it's 90% incorrect, and then Google will give you all the traffic you want with a high page rank for BS.

Come to think of it, maybe Joe Public has sussed that G is a load of rowlocks and, therefore declines to use it ... for MY widgets.

Yeah and yet you're still using Adsense. I totally understand the frustration. It just seems you come back periodically to complain but still haven't made the $100 to cash out.

@Redbar, are you sure everything is ok in your adsense account ?

For example, under allow ad type section, everything is checked ? Text, graphic, rich media ... ?

I think it's really that RedBar sound like he is making millions off the widget industry, yet spend quite a bit of time on a $100 monthly which nets to $1,200 annually. It doesn't feel productive to stress over less than 0.1% of income, from a business perspective. Even at his mentioned adsense peak it's about 5~10% of his income, before all of the Google's changes.

Whether its ethics, or Google's evil business practice or not, it's just not cost effective of one's precious time. I would rather spend the time sporting, fishing, traveling, spending time with family / friends with that million dollar widget business already in place. Dittos to the successful widget business, I have much respect for that. But that doesn't help most people who do not have that backbone backup. I would feel much productive to read and learn on how RedBar had built his multi-million dollar business, rather than hearing him fretting about the "pocket change" that google is "stealing" from him every other day. I learned early, that learning from successes is usually much easier than trying to learn from failures. He is indeed successful at his global widget business based on what he has said.

IF I am operating a offline business netting millions while adsense being less than 0.1% of it, I would spend 99% of my time on running the actual "real" business...that would be me personally that is. For me personally, advertising dollars nets to 100% of my income, with adsense being about 50% of it. It affects me in a much dramatic way with any changes. So I spend 50% of my time on adsense and creating more content. And another 50% on educating myself with more tools and concepts that can boost my business further. That's productive.

Back to main topic of this thread. RPM is 10% lower than the average today compared to the month. The end of quarter is near this month...I am expecting some end of month pushes.

Bear in mind I was one of the original SEOs from about '94, I worked with Altavista, Google headhunted me in the 90s to help them with their search algo, therefore I find it incredibly frustrating that this "baby" I personally helped to establish has turned into such a seemingly uncontrolled behemoth.

I keep hoping that they get back on track yet with every "improvement" they seem to make things worse for many.

I was so excited about the WWW back in 92/93, I could envisage the way forward for many things, including my businesses, and until the early to mid noughties things were looking good however the last few years, for many of us, all we have experienced is one major disappointment after another yet Google seems to believe it is doing us a "favour" by ruining so many lives and companies!

Be careful if you are considering criticising me, you may possibly be next, Google's FUD knows no bounds.

@egem1367 Analytics is stuck on my end but Adsense appears to be reporting correctly. My ctr and rpm are way down so it feels like it is stuck but PV are as expected.

I agree that Google's FUD can be insane especially on the organics side. I am operating the business like everything can go to the #*$!hole tomorrow. If anything, that's what I have learned from my and everyone's experiences that has lost traffic or adsense. I am living well below my means and saving every penny possible. My business did go to #*$! 3~4 years ago by me being standing still and complacent - a 90% plummet and below poverty income. I was an inch away from losing my home, while having a newborn baby in the household. I know and understand every bit of that feeling.

@frankleeceo, I was not aiming that at you personally, it was a heads-up and generalised warning for everyone since many can become complacement when things are going good. Been there, done that in the mid 90s when I took a couple of years, sort of out, to run my passion for a bar and restaurant ...

Glad to know that things have improved for you.

I think that anybody with websites who doesn't diversify in multiple ways is a sitting duck. I wish you well RedBar. I remember you from the old days.

I noticed zloan ads back again. It stole over 1.5K impressions from me today. Last weeks are totally unstable, with one day of awesome rpm and a day after it's not even half of it.

I said few days ago that they're playing with the ad balance cursor to test some scenarios. Up, down, up, down.
Seem to be that I was right :)

In order to block particular advertisers from appearing on your site through adsense, is doing it with just a domain enough?

Google appears to be getting very bad press lately. I have seen many people on Facebook encouraging people to NOT use the Google search engine. I don't know how far this has gone, but could that many people have turned away from Google search to go to search engines that do not track us? Could this already have an impact?

Just spent an hour on ad review and found one Adwords account that has been stealing thousands of impressions with unclickable ads. Not impressed.

Banned a familliar cheater a few days ago, Did not find any new since then, but i guess i have to check again. Last time they stole 24 000 views over a single day. That is really bad. Sigh...

18th and 19th of September - overall decrease in AdSense RPM for 20%
Comparing to 11th and 12th of September - difference is only that in last 2 days we've got 50% more rich media and image ads.

What's your definition of a bad day? Half of what you normally earn in a day, or maybe three-quarters? To be honest, I take what I can from Google AdSense nowadays. It's not very often I get into single figures, but my earnings are fairly uniform each day and I never drop below three figures for a month's earnings.

I think Google is making a concerted effort to help us make as much money as we can. In particular, if you have a lot of visitors browsing your website from my mobile phone then I think Google is working on helping us make money. I've always said that my decline in earnings are directly related to a massive drop in desktop activity on my website. Four or five years ago my average daily earnings were anywhere between 25 and £30. And that was from about 3 1/2 thousand hits a day. Now I am only in single figure earnings each day with the occasional double-figure day. Then it seemed that there was a massive increase in mobile activity which seemed to happen very quickly over just a few months which is when I noticed a big decline in earnings.

Also, Internet activity has changed over the years so if you are running a computer business then maybe your particular product isn't in favour which is why you're not making any money.
