Not sure if earnings are slow for everyone today, but mine have hardly got off the mark. It's only early afternoon in the US where the majority of my traffic comes from so hopefully things will look a bit more favourable tomorrow morning when I checked.

Late January picked up slightly (though my worst overall January in many years - down 20% from the year prior and THAT was down 20% from the January before). February looks like a slow start too - and perhaps a continuation of January. Still hopeful something kicks things into high gear. Maybe spring / summer ad spending.

Ads on one of my sites have a "Visit Site" option when you've clicked which forces viewers to click twice if they want to visit the advertiser. This started on one of the last days in January. Does anyone know why or has dealt with it before?

Ads on one of my sites have a "Visit Site" option when you've clicked

That's a Google feature to cut down on invalid/accidental clicks on mobile sites.

How long does this feature last? I've seen it before and I've seen it go away

I don't recall seeing any kind of "time in place" mentioned about that deal.

I'd guess it comes and goes depending on the site and invalid/accidental click ratio at any given moment.

January's woes have continued into February. Here's my tumbling RPM in visual form (figures redacted):

Yup, February hasn't started off quite as well as I had hoped. Early days, let's just keep our fingers crossed.

Your chart is similar to mine too, a steady range in the past year (which is already depressed from previous years ranges), and a sharp decline in January 2017. It's the notorious kicking when you're down move.

On my side, after a slow January, the 2 first days of February are exceptionally high.. This will certainly not last, and it might be a "correction" of the abnormally low January's incomes. But still it's always pleasant to see very good figures, event if this is only for a couple of days :-)

Hello Guys. My App went live on 25th November, 2015. For about 7 days (Unitl 1st/2nd Dec) i made about $12. Then, i had only about 150 - 250 installs. I was suspended from Adsense for a month. 2nd Dec to 2nd Jan so couldn't track stats accurately.

However, i think earnings were bad in January. In January i had about 2500 installs with about 70% of that as active users and only $13.02 at the end of the month. What do you think my earnings should be normally without the 'January Plague'.

Here are some stats from entire January below
Earnings - $13.02
Page Views - 113,216
Impressions - 105,303
Clicks - 285
Page CTR - 0.25%
Imoression CTR - 0.27%
CPC - $0.05
Page RPM - $0.12
Impression RPM - $0.12

However Here's what November looked like (25th to 30th November)
Earnings - $11.91
Page Views - 3,083
Impressions - 3,083
Clicks - 135
Page CTR - 4.38%
Imoression CTR - 4.38%
CPC - $0.09
Page RPM - $3.86
Impression RPM - $3.86

Can anyone analyze this data and tell me how much daily i should be expecting in February when earnings return to normal.
I currently have 3,512 installs (1664 installs on active devices).

I also have 1,909 uninstalls. Should I be worried about this?

My CTR has dropped by 50%. I had a CTR of 3% in January now it's 1.5%.

@stanley08 Welcome to WW.
It is impossible to say. But it seems clear from your November stats why you were suspended. A CTR of 4.38% seems very high. I would expect numbers closer to January.

December was great for me.

January, revenue dropped by 50% and February looks to be the same after a couple of days. Same CTR but very Low CPC...

February has been pretty good for me, but I reckon it might be a blimp so I'll give it a week or so before making a definitive statement.

February looking bad, just like January. But that's no surprise - February always sucks. Things will improve in March though as Q2 begins. In the mean time, it eases my pain to focus on creating content for long-term traffic.

stanley08 Unless Adsense rules have change, you need to be careful publishing your stats.

Don't know whether it is a coincidence or not, but my earnings took approximately 80% dive on 26 January on the day there was a big freeze in Adsense reporting system and keep declining. Both CTR and CPC dropped drastically. As of now, I earned whole 0.03 Euro today with zero clicks.

The last two months I have reached the third sector of xxx. This month looks like my earnings will finish off in the second sector of xxx with daily earnings slightly below x. The last two months daily earnings have been around x constantly with quite a few days exceeding which has been nice to see.

@stanley08

I would not pay much attention to the November stats, because it is likely Ad Mob are discounting many clicks as invalid.

Your impression numbers are still low and I wouldn't worry about the earnings until they get substantially higher with many more installs.

One thing to remember - The CPC for mobile ads is always going to be lower than for bigger screens.

Yeah me too very low CPC and RPM despite the increase in traffic. I wonder why because Valentines day is fast approaching and advertisers should have some budget for it. But on the contrary, other ad networks I have in my site is not experiencing this kind of downturn in RPM.

Pathetic CPC, same as last month.

Big drops in CPC seem to correspond with drops in stock price due too earnings misses.

I suppose the low CPC is expected, but I'm seeing a 20% drop in CTR from December (in conjunction to the lower CPC). Is anyone experiencing anything similar?

Could CPC "significant" drops can be related to money currency exchange fluctuation ? £ , € and $ had huge variations the last few months.

Hi
I am on health nich most traffic from US..140K\mo

DEC 2016 CPC = 0.4$

JAN 2017 CPC = 0.22$

FEB 2017 (6 days) CPC = 0.18$

CTR kinda same...

Do i have to worry ?... thinking about add info links or find other programs... revenue cut by 50-60% while my traffic increase 10% ..

I have an old site that consistently made $1+ per click back in the old days - 5-7 years ago.

Today, a click only makes about $0.20 on average. The drop happened most acutely over the past 1 - 1.5 years ago.

Traffic still roughly the same during the past 4 years.

Maybe the industry did decline, but still, it is a graphic example of how huge Adsense has declined, across all niches. I see this drop/decline in other niches too.

If you are a newbie with a new website (even a few years old is still new for me) you would probably not understand this phenomenon.

But it's absolutely true.

The ad industry hasn't declined, but media buying has become much more efficient (thanks to "programmatic ad buying," among other things). Also, bids are based on supply and demand, and mobile (which has grown enormously) has tended to push down average cost per click, CPM, etc.

Let's remember, too, that there's a lot more competition today (both from other sites and from other types of search ads) than there was half a dozen years ago.

For what it's worth, AdSense is actually performing better for us now than it was a year ago. And, thanks to the Ad Balance slider, we can run AdSense ads only when they're worth running (thereby freeing up screen real estate for other uses such as affiliate "house ads").
