Not sure if earnings are slow for everyone today, but mine have hardly got off the mark. It's only early afternoon in the US where the majority of my traffic comes from so hopefully things will look a bit more favourable tomorrow morning when I checked.

I have bugs on some ads too, massive bug at adsense ?

I'm making roughly the same audience as the previous days (6K expected tonight) and just 3 dollars. That's insanely low.

In 13 years I've never had to query Google about what's going on.

Which address does one write to? Their online stuff is hopeless.

@redbar what does your analytics account say? If something is only wrong with Adsense, then you should see normal traffic level in analytics. Otherwise, the issue may be somewhere else.
Have you checked?

I don't use Google's analytics.

It seems to me that halfway through yesterday that AdSense stopped displaying on this specific site and no AdSense PVs have been recorded since.

Interestingly this site was launched in the last week of December and I have been having a helluva problem getting Google to index it. Out of 400+ pages G has only indexed 50+, out of 1,000+ images G has only indexed 6.

Of the pages indexed, all but one has a cache date of 29th December 2016.

Something is wrong therefore I may move it sideways over the weekend to another domain to see if ads appear there, meanwhile neither me nor G are making any publisher money out of this site however realword business enquiries are coming through.

February began okay, but things have taken a big dive in the last few days. Looks like it's not just me...

To those who are trying to make excuses.

My homepage bounce rate is between 2 to 7% daily
Average time on page is 6 minutes

RPM, CPC and traffic all down.

This is the worst I have ever seen for Adsense - has NOTHING to do with the quality of your site - I can assure you of that.

My CPC has increased about 20% in comparison to January. I am not sure if this is due to Valentines advertising budgets or if it's due to the 2 step mobile confirmation on ads (a vast majority of mobile sites had this implemented mid-Jan to early-Feb). If it's the latter, as the quality of traffic sent to advertisers' landing pages increase, we would also see an increase in CPC. However, I'd suspect the changes I see are largely due to Valentines Day, I'll know for sure within a week.

I think what we're seeing is g previewing (for the advertisers) a new strategy to reduce non-performing clicks to rein in escalating ad spends ... quite a few advertisers are opting out and some of the resulting inventory is pretty low valued. There ARE two sides of the equation and sometimes the "other guy" gets what they are seeking (controlling costs) and we don't. :)

I usually wait until the next day to make judgments, and I don't draw broad conclusions from day-to-day variations, but today appears to have been our best AdSense day in a long time. And that's with the Ad Balance slider set at 13% coverage. As always, YMMV. (And MMMV too, tomorrow or the day after that.)

February 11th has been a record low day in 6-7 years, easy. CPC Text ads completely crashed.

Last week, when I saw that I was getting more clicks than cents, I thought I should take a break, and let the storm passes. Now, since two days, all is returned to the "normal", and even in the upper range of "my" normal earning. So there was obviously "something" wrong "somewhere".

Like Koan pointed, I think there is/was a problem with text ads. While using the Chrome's console tool, I noticed error popping related to Adsense's text ads.

Indirectly related, I had a thought. Since the Ad Balance tool was released (I don't know if we all have it), plenty of ads are no longer being displayed on our sites (the sites of those using this feature), so I was wondering if these "junk" ads, are now being displayed "more at others sites , to compensate the lack of display? To continue to guarantee to these advertisers that their ads are being shown anyhow. This could explain why some are seeing a collapse in their earning (my sentence might not be clear, a native english speaker will certainly formulate it in a better way, sorry).

@Dimitri
so I was wondering if these "junk" ads, are now being displayed "more at others sites

That is funny, I just posted the same comment on another thread (Fight Against Spam)...
So obviously I agree, sites not using the ad balancer will become spam magnets. However the for this to have any significant impact ad-balancer would need to be adopted by majority of sites. I am not sure that were are there yet.

I will agree, I have also noticed I higher volume of clicks with a lower CPC.

I'm not entirely sure why Amazon feel the need to advertise on AdSense, I would have thought that name alone is strong enough to do away with the need for this type of advertising. Anyway, I do use Amazon every now and then and just as of late I been searching for various things on Amazon. Now every website I go to displaying Amazon adverts the AdSense. There must be another 10,000 people every day just like me doing the same thing. If all of us click on an advert that didn't buy anything then that's going to cost Amazon a fortune. So they are probably paying hardly anything per click. No wonder that the amount of money we earn per click has dropped dramatically.

When you click on an amazon advert, I think it earns Amazon a little something, even if you are not buying, because Amazon itself displays ads and sponsored items. Plus the more people return to Amazon, the more Amazon can tease them , with special offers they wouldn't have think about before. Also, the machine learning algorithm of Amazon are identifying more your point of interest and can then send you email / newsletters with items for you.

. No wonder that the amount of money we earn per click has dropped dramatically.

Our average CPC for February is running 300 to 400 percent ahead of the same period in January, probably because we've become increasingly aggressive with the Ad Balance slider. (Our ad coverage is now at 13%.)

Our revenue is up only slightly, however, which just goes to show that CPC isn't a particularly useful metric unless you're an advertiser.

Dimitri, my earning are getting back to normal since that awful day (as in, the yearly average, still poor compared to 2 years ago). I haven't played with the Ad Balance settings and I don't block any ads at all.

Today is pretty slow too. One of my site was hit with the early february update and got 30% less pageviews. Other than that all is well. Valentine's day today, people are busy buying gifts and going on dates...or eating ice cream / binge watching tv for singles xd.

Just came to say that yesterday was slow across all my sites...maybe valentine's day dates were distracting people from surfing the web.

So far (half way the month) my RPM is down by 8% compared to January, but 20% up compared to February 2016,

My traffic is up by 18% compared to first 2 weeks of Feb 2016.

I hope I can extrapolate these numbers to the end of the month

Even if my earning is roughly in my "normal" range, I've noticed something odd (desktop). My 300x600 ad slot, which is usually my best performing one, and by far (like 80% of my income) is under performing since the beginning of February , with some days without even a single click on it. However, it's compensated by my 728x90 ad slot, which all of a sudden is recording clicks like never before. No change at all in page layout, no change in visibility (70% for the 300x600 and 60% for the 728x90) and advertisers seem to be the same as usual.

My traffic was rising, but nothing to be seen on revenue.
I've discovered that my fill rate dropped 7-8.01.2017 on general visitors from 98% to 82% and specific for for US visitors from 98% to 80% since 11.12.2016 !

Adsense team is "researching"...

@Dmitri you mention the 728 x 90 banner that started performing well for you. I got rid of a lot of those on my site because they were underperforming. However, I might put a couple in place and test the water. Whereabouts are yours located on the page?
