January was a mighty rollercoaster for many, surely February won't continue in the same vein?

falling value of my local currency (Australian dollar)

May be it's good time to visit Australia (for tourism).

Only if you were coming here anyway. The cost of living in Australia is ridiculously high, compared to the US and elsewhere. Probably too high for the poor old Adsense publisher. Sydney and Melbourne are among the world's most expensive cities.

Tuesday was terrible, not sure what happened, the last month has been really good.

And it's abnormal that the earnings from day to day can differ drastically. Confused...

Welcome to WebmasterWorld dinet:-)

Yesterday's USA CTR was abysmal for me plus extremely low value as well.

Today Kosovo is leading the way, what! The UK hasn't even turned up to the party, it's a Wednesday, traditionally one of my best days of the week and my EPC has collapsed again.

Back to doing more real work rather than fantasy AdSense-island:-)

I'm predicting that today will not be too bad. Yesterday was less than half of what I've been getting used to each day.

@netmeg:
thanks a bunch, Amazon AWS

Has anyone ever bothered to take the issue up with Amazon AWS [Amazon Web Service] since it is their servers which are being abused? AWS is supposed to be an exclusive system to integrate Amazon data into their Associates websites. Unless they have since gone off on some other weird tangent.

Although having had very long experience in dealing with both Google/Google AdSense on the one hand, and the Amazon/Amazon AWS on the other - my mind absolutely boggles. They would likely need an intermediary interpreter to converse with one another. Both are notorious for their own way coding and to hell with accepted standards. Pig headed all the way, as are Microsoft.
Also still have some technical ad serving and reporting issues that supposedly their technical team is looking into (though I had to go all netmeg on em to get past front line support)

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall to witness that.

Sydney and Melbourne are among the world's most expensive cities.

Come to the beautiful Central Coast of NSW by the ocean. Not quite so bad.

So true for Redbar these days (Adsense redbar, not our favorite poster)

“Some people come and go and are forgotten. But there are other people who share a part in our destinies. They come, they go, but they are never forgotten. They come, they go, but even after they go... they're still here. They never really went anywhere.”

Lot of red bars today and yesterday, on and off. RPM for US and other western countries is still low. I am lucky that traffic numbers are steady.

We've had a lot o red bars staring in January. Who knows why? It just kills momentum.

Any other ideas when CPM gotta be normal? What about February, 2015? Was it so slow as in this year, or thing were a little bit better after January? I suppose that March probably must have been better? Am I right?

No one knows that. For me, January '15 was much better than January '16 in terms of RPM - I made the same money with 35% less traffic.
Things have picked up a little in Feb for us but it is still much lower than Feb2015/2014/2013... in terms of RPM. I am really struggling with low mobile CPC which is just one-fourth of desktop CPC. It used to be around 60% of the desktop but now it's really very bad.

Yesterday was much more like a normal 2015 day, today after several hours I do not have one single click, absolutely nothing.

Should there be a red bar OR is it a non ad serving issue?

Clicks seem to be under-reported by about 20% right now, though no red bar.

@Dinet - Yes, things should return to normal late Feb(last week of Feb) or early March, for me, I have been doing business for a long time online and in the "real world" and depending on your industry/type of web site, your web site should see customers start to have the feeling to buy again starting in late feb or early march. It's a well known "stereotype" that people don't tend to have much money in January because of the Holiday spending in December. They save their January pay check and their Feb checks, but reality sets in for them in March so the process starts all over again.

So if your industry relies on individual consumers to buy things, you should see more willing buys, meaning eventually higher conversation rates which would then lead to increase in RPM CPC as the competition for the buying consumer would resume.

Just absolute garbage at the moment. Clicks barely trickling in and the EPC is woeful. Today's RPM is less than half the Feb 2015 average and my lifetime average. The whole thing needs a good enema.

Well there's a surprise, yet another red bar ... wouldn't it be easier for them to leave a permanent red bar but when things are supposedly running ok to put up a smiley face?

Good day, higher RPM and then... the red bar. I wonder if it's easier for them to cancel clicks or something with the red bar up?

Ad serving very weak again. Just saw an ad for an Applied Biomaster. I dont even know what that is.
I am gonna reduce the number of ads per page for a while, from 3 to 2.

Good day today. Overall, the week has been an improvement. Most of this improvement comes from U.S. traffic. Still down by 30 percent compared to this day last year.

Mobile traffic sucks.
