@Ironside, It was my suggestion to place your link unit above the side navigation, FYI, you can only have 2 link units on your page. I would recommend you to make it clearly visible to you visitors that it is an add and not your navigation links and change the font color to something other than your menu and/or hyperlinks on the page to distinguish it from from your content and place small tag right above it with word "Add" or similar to identify it as add and not your site links or navigation.

@Alex I really don't think anyone will mistake this ad unit for a menu, neither do I think Google would think I am trying to dupe people into making it look like a menu. I've read a lot of articles regarding these link menus, plus seen examples and everybody seems to do the same thing, they all tend to make the links a similar colour to the menu. However, it doesn't look like my menu, if I was able to manipulate it so it was identical to my menu then I believe I would be contravening Google's rules. We are told to blend our adverts into our pages, even Google says to do this. Nobody wants horrible -looking adverts ruining their webpages, therefore making some AdSense units the same colour as your navigation is okay as far as I'm concerned. I have been doing it for the last few years with no problems

the link units are just words that mean nothing unless you click on them,

I've noticed that AdLinks are usually a lot more contextual when the other ad types on the same page are in la la land. To understand why is to understand Adsense's ad serving which seems impossible.

Actually you can have three link units on a page.

I thought AdSense was slowly extricating itself after a few average days however Monday went straight back in the pan and so far today not one solitary click.

OMG, I've just seen the blue box with an arrow in it with View Ad > in about 24px, scare 'em away G!

@Super70. Actually you are spot on, the link units normally display words that are completely relevant to the page they are displayed on. However, when you actually look behind these words, they don't always link to anything that is related to your webpage. Doesn't really matter, people will still click on them which is what we want. For instance, on my Oscar fish feeding article, the three links that are displayed are "Oscar fish food" "best dry dog food", and "dry dog food list". The chances are my users will also own dogs so these may still be relevant to them. If I then jump to my article about setting up an aquarium for the Oscar, the three links are "Oscar fish food" "cloudy water", and "aquarium fish tank". If only all my ads were as relevant, I probably earn a fortune :-)

In the last three days my earnings have picked up, yesterday was quite a good day if you compare it to the last two months, is it too soon to start getting excited? :-)

Can't login to AdSense...about an hour+ now. Also, earlier today all Google+ pages were returning 500 internal server errors.

Out of 135 impressions yesterday, I had 21 clicks, it was my highest earning unit and has been for the last few days. So I would probably say it's definitely worth putting one of these units on your site. What I like about these link units as they will display relevant words to your website so people will almost certainly click on them. There's some interesting articles on the Internet if you look for information on using add link. People like to put horizontal add links under a menu, they often do quite well. Mine is just above my left hand menu.

If this was Adwords, Gmail, basically any other Google product, login issues would have been fixed in 30 minutes tops. I also experienced this login issue yesterday. AdSense is the Freshman team at best at Google. It's disappointing how little Google cares about the publishers.

Same I can't log in. Maybe that's why I've been rather chipper today. No stats to drag me into the blues?

I don't think so. There must be a technical problem. I tried different browsers and a computer with a different ip. Still impossible to log in.

Some serious technical trouble going on. Maybe G is getting D-DOSed or hacked big time?

Now, if word gets out, there will be worldwide uproar.....

I couldn't log into my Gmail as well earlier.....

What is really annoying is that they used to have engineers coming to (their) forum to give an update about such major issues, but nowadays, they just keep quiet.

No login issues on my end (AdSense, Gmail), but AS CPM considerably down for 23 Jun, at about 2/3 of the 2015 average. Missing clicks?

Just heard from my account manager. Even they don't know what's going...they're as in the dark as we are. Also, worst day of the year for me yesterday and today so far. My trust and confidence in AdSense is at an all-time low,

I am also able to log in to every service including AdSense. And yes CTR is low and EPC is a bit lower than usual.

No login problem. Earnings look a bit low, but maybe that's just slow reporting? It's too early in the day to tell.

Both CTR and EPC at 50% at the moment, I reckon they're messing about with stuff the amount of hassle I've been getting.

My EPC is exactly what it was last year this time, but my CTR is a lot lower. Good thing I've got more traffic and other monetization. But since I was planning on redesigning for next year anyway, might be time for a major layout shakeup.

I had a double dung day yesterday. Today? Looks like I won't check. I smell the dung coming.
