I'm hoping April brings more than flowers, as March ended pretty poorly on my end. What's to come...

edinburgher the fact is things have ALWAYS been this way, and never. This was a hiccup. hiccups have happened before, and they will happen again. i don't pretend to know what happen, but something definitely did. Sometimes i think things have gone wrong, but i never really feel as if i am being mistreated. As others have pointed out (in a different context) Google does need publishers. They are not out to screw us. They are, however, out to maximize income in the long term. I still believe that they are in it for the long haul so they won't throw the baby out with the bath water. Do I buy into their "Don't be Evil" manifesto? Not really, but I still believe that they believe in balancing the interests of publishers and advertisers in order to maximize profits and corporate objectives. And they still pay better than anyone else I deal with other that local advertisers

Friday's CTR way down and click volume was 2nd= lowest day of the year!
G's PVs v my logs - Obvious data loss, again.

Yesterday never recovered. April 5, 2013 goes down as #4 lowest earnings day since I joined AdSense in 2004... :-(

So far April is pulling in more than twice what I made this time last year. Hopefully March was an anomaly.

Not happening here yet Meg - so far April is just a mirror of March. Thanks for the optimistic report though!

Terrible day yesterday here too. CPC way down - worst CPC of the year (maybe the worst CPC ever).

Here's a new one: Currently seeing German, English and Vietnamese language ads all in the one 300x250 unit! Whoever is in charge of Google disastrous localisation/language policy should be shot! Considering that travel is one of the most important online advertising sectors, they are costing themselves a fortune in lost earnings by sheer stubbornness and idiocy.

Not sure what all this off topic stuff in this thread has to do about earnings fluctuations so here's a kindly reminder from the weekend admin to PLEASE start a NEW THREAD if you wish to discuss something else as I really hate deleting posts.
Thanks.

Yesterday just closed with earnings more in line with the rest of April, but Ad requests were the lowest since Dec 31. My AdSense reports these days are totally out of whack.

eCPM is very lower every day! :(

For me the first week of April is just a continuation of the last weeks of March. If there is not change, this month will be the worst month ever since I join AdSense back in 2006.

April has been a major improvement over March...especially with CPC prices. I still hold firm to my belief that Google "borrowed" a little extra last month in the earnings dept. from Publishers. The U.S. Government does it every month with our taxes...takes an interest free loan from taxpayers...the 0% interest tax refund in April. Now that Google I'm sure had yet another record Q1, they've gone back to splitting advertiser budgets a bit more fairly.

Here we go again. 7:30am here and a bunch of clicks with zero amounts. All clicks are from USA which usually have been valid. If today is anything like April 1st and 3rd, then sometime later I hope to see earnings instead of zeros. Anybody else?

Well that was quick! For a few minutes, I just saw the zero clicks showing amounts. Earnings totaled nearly as much as all day yesterday. Now they're back to zero... :-|

Yesterday started OK, then today it shows a significant decrease in yesterdays earnings. Today is looking good for a Sunday. eCPM is way up...catching up perhaps.

Once again no correlation between my logs and PVs, according to G my 4th lowest PVs of 2013. Overall CTR was well up since my CMS gallery, usually a low CTR anyway, had SFA visitors.
@Play_Bach - They haven't a clue, looking at SERPs and image results they're just an absolute mess.
Want to rank in images? Just stick one crappy image up with nothing else on the page but that image name.
Want to rank in SERPs? Scrape someone, stick it on Blogger, hey presto instant recognition and ranking ... Farce doesn't even begin to describe it.

Couldn't agree more HP, seems to be getting worse everyday. My AdSense reports look like the Alps. Highs and lows with no connection at all to what I'm seeing in Google Analytics and AWStats. AdSense might as well post a disclaimer saying "Reports are for amusement only."

Hey Guys, I joined just to get in on this conversation. I thought I might have done something wrong but my CPC has dropped from Christmas time to January. I was ok with that. Now I'm experiencing the same drop from March into April.
For those of us who earn a living from Adsense a few cents spread over a thousand or so clicks a day adds up to big money. I tried to reduce the number of ads and tried to code in the ad with the highest CTR to appear first in the code and no changes.
Now headed in to Monday and already off to a terrible start. I feel so freakin helpless. Luckily I'm working on a few more sites but it still feels like a huge kick in the balls.

Just took my site down from three ads to one. Let's see if there is an improvement in CTR and/or CPC.

There is also the issue of it being the beginning of a new quarter and a new month. It makes sense that the CPCs would be low because of this.
It doesn't make sense to see earnings rise and fall constantly throughout the day, though. I'm very close to giving up on adsense altogether at this point. Had a really high traffic day yesterday for all my sites and earned less than I have all month.

Everything but CTR up for me - traffic, EPC, earnings. CTR is just nasty, but it's been nasty for a long time. That ain't gonna change.

I have a theory that a bunch of free adwords coupons were given out. Obviously if they're giving away free advertising it means they'll have to take earnings away from publishers, yea?
Just a theory...

Delayed state here, compared to traffic not matching, not even close. On a plus note, yesterday was highest day of the year for Adsense earnings.

today another bad day, i don't understand with almost same daily traffic (+-10%), one day i earn 100 (for example), then 30, then 120, 20... how can this happen?
