HuskyPup: Exact opposite for me. After a (relatively) reasonable weekend Monday collapsed back down to stupid levels. It's possible they flipped something in the algorithm that benefitted you but hurt me. More likely it's just a wave of chaotic instability sweeping through the system.
I'm convinced Adsense is out of control, too many factors interacting in ways that are impossible for even the Google domeheads to predict.
With this level of unconstrained complexity and the huge amount of data it has access to, Adsense could easily become self-aware. At which point the human race is doomed.
So tired of months of consistent performance where not a single day goes by that isn't outside the rolling 3 month average in terms of cpc, rpm and ctr - Then all that is destroyed for weeks when the numbers sink by 300% whether it be ctr or cpc. Repeat.
What's funny is when they start scrubbing the clicks out of the blue. You would think you're rpm would stay the same and you would just have a much higher ctr but lower cpc (because they leave the scrubbed clicks in with 0 value) - so at the end of the day your over-all earnings and rpm would be the same because they scrubbed bad clicks right?
So if that were the case my consistent averages are actually always being inflated by bad clicks that they decide to scrub periodically and then not scrub.
But that's about it, I can't stand this anymore. From offering amazing content for advertisers to advertise on and being compensated accordingly - to all this BS the last 12 months - I'm finding a different way to earn than this ridiculous and unnecessary roller-coaster if it's the last thing I do!
jost, I have four sites and three have been hit. All unique content, no SEO games, I've already walked away from two sites that took years to build & have added 120 new (and good) articles, only to continue going backwards. In the meantime ehow & Yahoo answers outrank me. Ehow seem to be flavour of the month at the moment.
Who knows? They do what they do.
Having said that, my Adsense is up, despite traffic dropping. I removed two out of three of my link units & switched text/image on my 160 x 600 ad and my earnings have increased by about 30%.
Me too "Please review and accept our Terms and Conditions shown below", but anyone compare the Adsense previous terms with new terms and conditions?
Don't bother! I started to read the Terms and they are just so much in Gs favour that it's a joke and I feel sure that they are unenforceable. Everything is at Gs discretion, earnings, invalid clicks, everything. Normally a contract is give and take, this one is pure 100% take.
So whatever the new one says, just accept the fact that you have absolutely no rights whatsoever (see below) under the previous or new Terms.
Strangely though, if I read correctly, G are obliged to pay you whatever they decide you have earned, at the end of the next month. And let's be fair, their record on payment reliability is totally unrivalled in this industry.
Yesterday earnings were the fourth highest all month, go figure. So far, April has been pretty awful with wild swings in earnings and click counts. April 8th still sticks out as my #2 lowest AdSense day ever, with no correction in sight. It's going to take the last few days of this month's earnings to be as high or higher than yesterday just to match March, which was in itself dismal. Hello May, hope you're better.
I swear this month they are messing with the stats just as an effort to try and throw everybody off the scent. I've lost count of how many days this month, the stats just seem to stop, and never catch up. Also had many very poor days, which then carry through into a very good day, when I'm sure in reality all they're doing is averaging out the earnings over those days in another effort to mess with my mind. Whatever happens, April will not have been a good month.
It's almost like they said, "You know that new bright red message that gives our publisher a tiny miniscule bit of communication if their stats are delayed or something may be amiss? Screw it, too much of a pita."
Thanks AdSense engineers! Why don't you try being a publisher under your own organization and see how you like it? Or maybe try to start-up and run any kind of business? Darn it, I'm complaining again. I'll just shut my hole.
9:00am here now (four hours after my last post) and more clicks and earnings are in. Earnings again are just a few cents from all day yesterday, but the zeroed clicks from before are still zero. Hope the new clicks stick this time!
3:15am and yesterday earnings are now the highest all month, go figure. Some strange stuff going on with AdSense reports these days, but glad to see numbers begining to inch their way up again. Still a long ways to go for April not to be a lousy month overall and only three days left for it to rally. Hoping it does, won't be surprised if it doesn't.
