Pretty Scroog-ie of Google, I have to say. I reiterate, some of the money they are "holding" and earning interest on, is much more than 30 days old. They started "saving" November 1.

You know, if G had paid us all a little earlier, a couple of kids might get a little more in their stocking, some of us might have even donated to our local soup kitchen or charity. Google's holding of the money until after Christmas (even if they release the funds today, my bank won't clear them until the 26th) is not justifiable by any means.
They may claim that their motto is "don't be evil" but that's really not saying much. I'd be much more impressed if they actually did some good once in a while.
Thank goodness I wasn't depending on them. As usual, they failed to deliver in a timely, meaningful manner. Not that I'm not happy making money with them, just their manner of never doing the "right" thing gets a little old and annoying.
Merry Christmas from your faceless, amoral, multi-national corporation.

The advertisers pay by credit card which takes time to clear, they need time to check their data against fraud before releasing the funds, they usually start PIP few days before the end of the month, this December they're doing it 10 days before the end of the month.
Pick one of the above if it makes you feel any better.
Thanks again and Merry Christmas.

When does it start in the US? A day or two earlier might have made a difference for some people.
Besides, checking for fraud, clearing their payments, etc., is all automated and happens pretty quickly, i.e., a couple of days.
All I'm saying is that the corporations of the world would be held in better regard if they sometimes acted with a tad, a touch, a smidge of conscience.

And of course, with all their money it wouldn't hurt them to pay December's and January's earning in advance too and really give their suppliers a good Christmas. {My January earnings are exceptional next year}.
Why should Google pay out before Christmas? They don't give anyone any reason to expect payment before 5th January. Many other businesses use the holiday period to delay payments rather than bring them forward.
Cheers and all the best for the Holidays,
Rob
I guess they calculated the additional interest they'd earn over 5-7 additional days and figured the cash was worth more than the good will of their strongest supporters. As usual, regarding human emotion, the bean counters were WRONG. A lot of people will not forget that Google didn't care about them at Christmas.
Can you spell S-C-R-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-G-L-E?
I concur with ianCP, that the bean counters at Google either don't care about overall Public Relations or couldn't see the easy PR score paying everyone before Christmas would have been.
Well I recollect somewhere around a payment due early one November [I think] it was royally screwed up for some reason or another. Perhaps the year before last.
Anyway, the next AdSense payment was advanced considerably and I believe Google gained significant respect for that effort.
Bean counters are a dime a dozen yet are paid considerably more than most and more than they deserve. I should know I spent most of the 1960's and early 70's as one.
In all my commercial incarnations since I have lived by two rules.
a) Pay the staff early before Christmas and also through to the New Year.
b) Even in the lousiest of bad times for me business wise, I'd religously pay "the little people a two week bonus". Top staff often counted themselves lucky t get paid and still have a job.
These were my own businesses.
Even in some of my better businesses which were successful, Sales Managers who actually did produce very tangible results played second fiddle to the "little people".
In good years star performers were known to earn a two year salary bonus and a tax problem.
For the other 50 weeks of the year?
Staff worked their guts out for me.
It's called motivation, appreciation and reward.
Kindness and a little humility don't go astray.
