I discovered something in one of my zillions of tests I always have running, something huge. Something so huge in fact that after several additional tests has me shaking today.

I do not think it is a bug, with one change I can outrank any site in Googles index that competes with me. For all you smart arses no it is not adwords. I have never seen anything like this, not since Google was born. Not since all the web or webcrawler or av.

So if you discovered this, what would you do?

Seems to me the right thing to do is post it in the supporters forum... isn't that what the mods are supposed to say instead of don't post anything lol

Finally someone from Google to put an end to the rumours!

Who are you referring to?

I hope he has the analytics domain blacklisted for his computer ;)

1) Check the first IP on this URL (OPs IP)
2) Check Webmaster Tools accounts for this IP, and other IPs logging into those accounts
3) Check which domain under those accounts is rizing up on certain keywords
4) Adjust algo immediately to compensate for the 'miscalculation'

We found something similiar about 5 years ago. It was no problem to outrank brand names and it lasted for awhile. Use it as much and as fast as you can. Google givith and Google takith.

I have discovered it ... and I'm going to post it right now:

If you sign in to your Google Account and click +1 on your listing, you jump right up in the rankings. I've jumped from position #241 to position #3 overnight!

My point is, make sure that what you are seeing is what everyone else is seeing. I've discovered some amazing backdoors in my time, but never "one change" that can "guarantee that you hit #1".

I find it impossible to believe.

Contrary to popular belief, some folks with Google accounts never +1 anything. :)
