FWIW, my early change indicators are ringing, starting about 5 am CST this morning, and it seems to be Panda related. Possibly reverse-Panda related.

I too saw a HUGE spike in google pages crawled a few days ago.
pages crawled spike, kilobytes downloaded spiked, but where it says time spent downloading in miloseconds shows a deep deep plunge. Very wierd. How could the time spent bottom out, but pages and kilobytes spike... I'm talking 5 times more than normal google traffic?
