Google PANDA rolls out WorldWide

Today, for the first time, after checking daily, I can now see US Panda results on Google properties worldwide including but not limited to: .co.uk, .ca, .co.in, .com.au, .fr, .de, .se, etc.

Congratulations, it's no longer speculation if you have Panda, it's quite visibly there.

Try google.co.uk for starters.

I see the same results on multiple non-US data centers.

However, it could be rolling out in waves meaning I'm seeing a segment of the index changed others aren't seeing yet, but the US Panda results for my niches and some other stuff I track are now worldwide best I can tell.

It has definitely hit the UK, my sites have been hit pretty hard -80% in the last couple of hours.

I see a change in my niche today. Searching for "blue widget" (in the domain name) I've suddenly got the first three spots, then there are a bunch of local results and images before you get to anyone else. I quite like that.

I am still not seeing it in au. I checked UK and I find some changes but not as massive as it was in U.S. But I wasn't tracking UK serps and am not sure whether there is any change now.

Not really seeing any UK changes here yet. Some minor fluctuations but probably down to seasonal trends. Have noticed some competitors drop a bit though.

I still see rankings for my site very similar to pre-Panda. However, since yesterday, I do see a very slight drop in my main phrases on Google.es (from #1 to #5, but not from #1 to page 3+ like I saw here in the U.S.)

Since there was such a large time lag between Panda in the U.S., and deployment in other countries, I wonder if we will see a different effect when it spreads (if it hasn't already). Many of us have been improving our websites for the past 6 weeks. So, it seems possible that as Panda spreads to other countries, websites that were significantly cleaned up during the interim might see less of ranking impact, particularly if the site was borderline to begin with and assuming Google uses the most recent data for input into the algorithm. For example, I see what appears to be my pre-Panda rankings on Google.es. I can't be certain that it isn't Panda using the most recent data from my improved site, and placing my site back where it should be. The cache date for my pages showing on Google.es is April 9.

Make sense? Possible? If so, it might offer a glimmer of hope for sites in the U.S. It seems to me that the algorithm would rank pages using the data it has available to it at the time of deployment (unless it carries a list of domains with it).

As per the other thread I checked webmaster tools, two domains show zero traffic last Wednesday, this is clearly wrong as our other monitoring shows traffic. Around this time merchant centre went ape too, claiming URL's were not valid, all checked out OK.

Looks gloomy for my site too, but what I am saying is IF my theory is correct, then what we see as Panda in other countries may offer us some hope that we will recover here in the U.S. after some predetermined period of time. Just an idea. I am still ranking very well in other countries where Panda has supposedly spread to.

Also, be sure to click 'Filter' and filter the results by country, if necessary. I have been filtering by U.S. only since Panda began.

It has been live in France for a while now ..but only over the last 48/72 hours have I seen it hammering directories and public info scraper/repackagers hard..they were moving agitatedly before..now some are dropping hard ( 100 to 200 places ) all across the sites.

It has hit very hard over the last 15 to 21 days on the shopping comparative sites that just acted as "bridge" pages / aff feeders to other sites ( who frequently did not have the goods ).So no loss there..IMO.

I presume that you are checking effects on directories Bill ?

Very interesting, and it seems to further confirm my theory. In the U.S., my main 3-word phrase phrase fell to page 4. In France and Spain, I am #5. My main 2-word phrase fell to page 56, in France and Spain it's on page 4. I think there is hope for sites in the U.S. (i.e., those that have cleaned up and/or were borderline to begin with).

Thanks netmeg.But doesn't it show impressions and # of clicks? I had never matched the click throughs with analytics to check how accurate it was.

Yup.

. Bill and others may be seeing the panda everywhere in their niches.

I still have some high ranking keywords, but the top 10 was shuffled, so knowing who used to be in the top 10 helps identify a Panda update IMO.

@Frank_Rizzo congrats, I'm seeing a lot of that too. The original page has been penalized, therefore you get an alternate result that has the next best answer to the query.

Frank_Rizzo, that really sounds crazy...Is G valuing community involvement a lot these days? G has gone mad if it is doing it so heavily to become a social social engine rather than a good search engine. They are getting too confused at what they want themselves to be.

We saw a big drop for International traffic on April 1st. Looks like the Panda update rolled out or was being tested on March 31st.

I'm having an increase in traffic with low quality sites, with a lot of ADS and SPAM backlinks. When I read the Panda Update in US Google I thought: "s**t, all my adsense sites will drop", but......

It just hit Google mobile in the last 10 mins. It was rolled out first on normal G now G mobile.

That is simply false. Globally, there are the same number of webpages to rank irrespective of which country you're sitting in. I just ran a search for my main phrase in the U.S.=23,700,000 results...On Google.es =23,700,000 So my theory still stands. There are equal numbers of results showing in both countries, and thus there are equal fractions of "low quality sites" to rank.

On Panda in Spain, my site still ranks very well, unlike here in the U.S. (equal number of results returned). I shared my theory above. Whether it sticks remains to be seen.
