Another important site had a complete overhaul and went from pagerank 4 to 0 after we redesigned it and imported a new database of nearly 50,000 businesses. It's a business directory. Some of the rankings fluctuate from being #1 to #5 for a few weeks to not even being found today within the top 300. I stopped looking after 300. However, this site shows over 31,000 pages in google when we search site:domain.com.
Another of my domains on the first domain's same ip address has a page rank of 4.
I have another domain that simply says "account not active" on the home page and it has a page rank of 3.
I'm so confused. It looks like redesigning your site can get you penalized at least with pageranks. I NEED HELP.
In particular, it sounds like you may have issues related to changing your url structure - new page names, and so on. Also our Site Search [webmasterworld.com] can help you find related information about your redesigns.

The fact that Google eventually exports a more recnt "snapshot" of that data to the toolbar has no present time effect on ranking.
