I SEO'd my URLs on Feb 28 and have been looking at a white PR toolbar since. I now see previous (or better) PR on all SEO'd pages. Actually, as of 3 days ago my whole site is back in Google after 8 months of being 950'd. When I put all my facts and figures together I'll post what I did to come back into Google's good graces.

It looks a bit too good to be true for me - with a site going from PR0-6 and a site 4 sites I launched 6 weeks ago all with a 5. Definately seeing it accross all my sites though and in the Toolbar (although sometimes without the www?)

My home page has dropped from 5 to 4 on most datacenters, but major inside pages are keeping a PR4.

My competitor's site has dropped from 6 to 5 on the same datacenters.

Traffic doesn't seem to be affected so far. But it does make me chew my nails.

Traffic has got nothing to do with it - it's pure link-vanity! :)

I doubt this is any kind of a roll back. Sites of mine which are 6 months to a year old now have TBPR. These sites never had TBPR so not a roll back. What I am finding interesting is Google giving my inner pages higher TBPR than the root. Never seen this before except when inner pages have been linked from a high TBPR site of which most of my sites don't have any inbound links unless from forums and the like(generally low TBPR). It's like Google is penalizing new sites with TBPR on their root domain. Strange, 7 new sites and all are the same way...2nd level pages with higher TBPR than the root domain. 3rd level pages with same TBPR as root domain. 4th level pages(product pages) with no TBPR. You'd think they'd inherit 3rd level TBPR -1. Can anyone explain this?

Tool Bar Page Rank = TBPR. That green bar that you see as PageRank and that supposedly doesn't mean anything anymore.

2nd level pages with higher TBPR than the root domain

If I remember correctly, several people reported this kind of thing right after the January PR update too, but it settled out after a while.

Ive seen google give new inside pages higher rank for the past year.. even if they have no outside links coming in. Looks like a new site PR hold back.

OK I have seen my PR7 home drop a point to 6, i have done future PR checks an see variation 6 or 7 on 50% of datacenters. New subdomains have gained some PR not as large as would have been under previous algo's. Newer domaindsall got some PR. I havent acquired many / any new incoming links in that last 6 months so I guess I might be spreading things a little thin. It will be very intereting to see how it pans out.

[example2.com...] PR 5 - PR 5 but some pages updated from PR 0 - PR 5

The New York Times PR has dropped from PR9 to PR8 ;-)

I have the impression that Matt Cutts & Co have lately been paying more attention especially to sites with high PR.

What seems to be working mostly is backlinks with PR2 and above. All backlinks with PR0 and PR1 seem to be ignored. Can anyone corroborate this?

most have dropped by -1 although it does not appear to be affecting the position in searches - still it is humilating to have sites go from 5 to 4
