Spacey - MC just answered your question in his blog comments:

J3 has less to do with spam and more to do with general indexing. It’s hard for me to estimate how it might affect your site without knowing any specifics...
.

Sounds scary to me!

Seriously though, the correct place to report specifics is using the keyword jagger2 (we're still in part 2) on the spam report form at [google.com...]

Put Jagger2 in the additional notes box?

What if there are notes to add too?

Oh, thanks, I checked his blog earlier and didn't see that.

*SIGH* I guess I'll be getting some work done today after all.

I now think the results everyone was complaining about on a small number of data centres was a preview of this new "ranking" :)

Oh dear.. if I'm right there's going to be a few unhappy webmasters in the world.

Personally I am glad to see the outing of blatant spam sites here, even against TOS in this case and good to see GG taking obvious interest.

66.102.11.99 not sure I want those results but can live with them :)

I want to know how on earth a page which mentions a keyword ONCE at the top of a page gets to the #2 position in the SERPs (every single DC), yet has nothing to do with the keyword.

That is good search?

AlexK

Not a very competive term and only very very few in an allintitle:keyword search - even less if you exclude supplementals. Title is still important in G. (and it is on a root page I guess)

I know for a fact those results were being used in the UK... I wonder if they were testing their impact or something.

Does anyone else think the removal of these results and then the sudden collapse of DC's is interesting? I think they may have been Jagger3, dispite information supplied.

Curiouser and curiouser!

Time will tell!
