I read the other day about RSS feeds and would like to get my site submitted to them.
I contacted yahoo and just got a note back and now am unclear as to how to proceed.
Could somebody help me please?
Thank you

You want to get Yahoo to spider your RSS feed? The easiest way I know of to do this is to add the feed to your My Yahoo! page in the RSS Headlines section.

Hi Bill,
I think I am s till confused. If I did this, would that mean that i would get Yahoo news on my website? That isn't what I would like.
I thought it was a way to get my site more visiblity somehow on yahoo... but I guess I was wrong.

No. That's a trick to get Yahoo to notice your RSS feed. Yahoo will then inclue an XML indication in the SERPs under your site's listing.

Dear Bill,
Oh, well then pehaps it would be good to have the RSS feed. I was under the impression though that RSS feeds were primarily for new-esque sites and I do not think mine would qualify as such.

RSS feeds can contain all sorts of things...news, page text, images, media files, you name it. It's just another way of getting your content out there. You can put your entire website into RSS if you like.
There are some good RSS resources over on the Lockergnome site [channels.lockergnome.com] for the beginner.
