Hello
I have a need to change a left hand nav bar that is out growing space by showing main sections and then on mouse over
will show a secondary set of related to that section links

it needs to be quite simple
on mouse over will open a sub section that offer clikable links on mouse out will close that sub section

I use PHP and MySQL but my JS knowledge is quite worthless :)

anyone would have a script I can still from

thank you

regards

Henry

PS) my users machine might have problem with DHTML so I will not go that route

You can change the onClick events to onMouseOver events to do that. If your JS knowledge is so worthless that you don't know what that means, search the web for the event names and you'll soon learn. It's not very difficult so I'm sure you can work it out ;-)

BlobFisk has a nice article on how to create heirarchical menus (like what you seem to be asking about) using JavaScript, here on WW [webmasterworld.com].

You may also be able to accomplish what you need with a "Pure CSS Menu" [meyerweb.com]. And you might find this bug workaround [tanfa.co.uk] helpful if you go that route and have any problems with IE.

thanks to all
I can do a few things and tweak most JS scripts
however I cannot built a full script in JS from scratch
that is what I did mean by "Worthless"
now I have enough info to start

regards
