How to adblock "sponsered links"?

Is there a way to block embeded scripts?

Sites like tomshardware use "sponsered links" which looks for words and creates ad links to other sites. Moving the mouse over these links creates extended titles like Erik Bosrup's Overlib. I find these extremely obnoxious and was wondering if anyone has figured a way to stop these without actually disabling JavaScript altogether?

Find the URL to the JavaScript, and block that domain in your browser/firewall.

Tricky. If you have software on your computer which allows you to selectively block content, that might work. Otherwise you're out of luck.
