Stop Adsense From Repeating

I am new to js and want ot know how I can get a google adsense script from repeating itself. The ad shows three times (google limit) on a page and I only want it to appear once.
I am placing it in my index template between posts ina blog and it appears after the first three posts on every page and I want it only to appear after the first post on every page.
Am I placing the code in the wrong area or is there some other script that would say allow it to stop after the first post?

That would seem to be the case. I don't envy you scouring thru the blog templates, but you need to find out where you can place the code and have it appear as you want.

If there was something wrong with G's js code we would all be screaming about it, so I think it's safe to say the the code is good.
