Does JavaScript Affect Ranking?

Hi all,

Just something I've been wondering..

I have a new(ish) site that has been fully indexed by Yahoo but does not rank anywhere close to well. Now, I have some (read: a fair bit) of javascript to rotate some banners / images on the site. Does this hurt your search engine ranking?

Not if it's for what you say. You may want to take your js off the page though, if for no other reason than to get the important text as high up in the code as possible.
