Inserting img tags into textareas

Hey peeps,

If you can help a newbie out, that would be awesome :D_b

yeah, so it's like when the user clicks on one of the colour plates to the right of the 'Colour' textarea, it inserts the <img src="... /> into the textarea accordingly, sometimes even multiple tags.

Is there a sample code to this sort of function?

I've tried googling for some but they seem to be fairly complex.
