Script in frames? Newbie

I'm not positive this is the right place to put this post, but I'm in the process of learning through trial and error how to put together a website. I'm using CoffeeCup HTML Editor for now until I get more familiar with everything. Anyway, I originally did not use frames for my site, and am looking to change it to incorporate frames, the only thing is that the DHTML menu of my old site won't show up in the frames if I put my current website in the main frame of the new one I'm trying to put together. I don't know if this is making any sense right now, but I'm really kinda lost. Any help is appreciated.

Try to put your menu to the main document. I don't understand you clearly if it's not hard try to give us example.
If iframe contains your variable you can access it like
window.iframename.variable. I hope it helps
