XHTML disables my JS. Why?

Hi,

I have a script that's scrolling a textarea. It works fine using any DTD (or even none at all), but the moment I add the XHTML1.0 DTD, it fails.
The page is validated at W3C and has lower case characters, etc.
Can someone suggest a common newbie error or point to some place I can get some info on this?

TIA
Dan

Actually, it fails in DTD HTML 4.01 with the link to W3C, too.

Sounds like there's a problem with the JavaScript to me...
Got some example code?

Dr,

Sorry late reply.
Yes, I drilled a bit further and found the script worthy instant deletion.
It's now gone. Instead, I purchased a script from a JS developer I know. Not only better, but also came with immediate support.
Why didn't I do this from the start.... :-\
