hello everybody --

i have a menu here

[66.84.71.35...]

that has been done with layers and absolute x and y positioning - i need a "relatave" menu that will be in a table "centered" in page -

if i use layers, of course, depending on screen size, res etc - layers are not displayed in ideal locations --

i would be glad to pay a reasonable fee to hire a pro to do this for me -

i would also be willing to learn how to do this for my self - if guided in the right direction...

many thanks - iggy

Hello

Well i'm a JavaScript lover, but i really think that this king of menus could be more efficient with CSS, you can check an example in this page

www.meyerweb.com/eric/css/edge/menus/demo.html

Hope it helps

i have looked at this sort of thing - but to the best of my findings this also relys on absolote x and y positioning -

remember my goal is to use this menu in a centered page -

am i missing something here?

can this type of thing actually be done with css - so the menu displays correctly - regardelss of screen size - res etc...?

Absolutely positioned elements are positioned in relation to their containing element. If you wrapped all this code in a relatively positioned centred <div> (centre using margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;) then it would centre.

Can't help but comment that 40K+ for an unpopulated menu is a hell of a lot of code though.

iggy99,

You might want to try www.projectseven.com, they have some Dreamweaver extensions that do what you want.
