Sometimes I'm a late adopter of new things and wait to see what experiences everyone else has before I waste my time and the Link Units was getting such mized results I just bagged the idea. However, after my Commission Junction revenue took a slide this month I decided to replace one CJ Smart Zone ad locations with AdSense Link Units last night.

I get up this morning and much to my surprise my Sunday earnings are UP and Link Units contributed 30% of the income!

I sure hope this isn't a fluke.

Seems I am living from AdLinks.

As the AdLinks had been announced, I created an automatic ad placement system for the navigation area.

As CTR increased 50%, I thought it's my improved system.

Yesterday, I set up additional channels for AdLinks.

Big surprise, more than 50% of my income is from AdLinks.

Big surprise, the AdLinks have a 23% higher EPC compared to the normal ads.

All this talk has enouraged me to give it a shot on my newly-redesigned sites. If it works out, I'll roll it out network-wide. I'll report my results -- I know I get a lot out of this, so I'll share the knowledge!

"$100/day increase most days since it was added"

That's incredible, Incredibill. I'm trying them out right now. I have noticed the following:

1. cpc is lower in many cases, though perhaps sheer volume will negate this.

2. users WILL click on them.

Now, the question will be: will adlinks result in new clicks or will I be sacrificing higher paying clicks for lower paying clicks. Also wondering how the whole smartpricing thing will affect it. I'll give it a while and see what I get out of it.

I wonder, though, how will the presence of adlinks on a page be affected by CPM/site targeting whenever that gets going (any news on that?)?

With my site I have one section that contains a large number of pages, each page has an image on it and then some text below that describe things about the image. People don't usually read the text they just skip from one page to the next (which is fine with me) but this section was racking up a large number of page views yet didn't have as high a click through rate as my site's other pages.

I added AdLinks right next to each page's navigation options. Over all keeping the pages the same, and adding AdLinks, provided for a 30% increase in revenue for these pages.

With several weeks of AdLinks data to analyze it seems like AdLinks averages about 35% total of my income but no complaints as it's 35% more than I had before!

Hope this is working well for all the rest of you too.

Now to figure out what other adjustments can boost AdSense more as I think I'm running out of ideas...
