Ads by Goooooooooooogle

Anyone spotted the above with their ads? Kinda strange I think.

It seems strange that Google are doing this.

This is only a guess, but it might be a test by Google to see if they can bypass adblocking software by changing the text. Of course it wouldn't be hard for the adblocking software to pattern match all possible reptitions of 'o'. But they might just be testing to see how well it works before coming up with a better solution

I guess that's possible . . . but, it actually seems to be increasing the CTR on my site. ^^;

My CTR has gone down since they started showing the Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooogle ads on my site, but it could be a coincidence.

I don't know many who would trade in the Goooooooooooogle for a diminished CTR ;)

I am only publisher and not adwords user but I change it in a minute if i could. CTR is not everything, and how does higher CTR help me in the long term when Advertisers pay for it with curious surfers clicking and not with real leads?

cheers

I really don't like it, it looks childish, but if increases my revenue let it be ;)

I was kind of hoping after the ipo I would see the end of Ads by Goooooooooooogle.

This type of attention garnering seems distracting and a bit innappropriate on many of my sites.

From Googles "What's New" page:

Ads by Goooooogle

We're currently running a test with new branding features on Google ads. You may notice some of your pages displaying 'Ads by Goooooogle' ad units. We welcome your feedback on this new look, and we'll be analyzing the results of this test over the next while.
