Looksmart promised refund, then withdrew offer.

I had been a member and user of Looksmart for the past year until an issue came up with my clicks. I went from doing about 40 clicks a month for a particular inclusion, for about a years time, to jumping to over 2000 clicks in a single months time. The average page view time was about 1.3 second and I did not have a single conversion. I contacted Looksmart on many occasions and was told I was showing up for keywords that had absolutely nothing to do with my site. I insisted on some sort of compensation for the fraudulent clicks.

I finally received and email back saying they would credit half of the amount back ($200.00) and not the full amount. Needless to say I was a little upset. I decided to cancel my campaign with them a couple of weeks after that. After I was already promised a refund of $200 in writing. I sent a second email asking why my credit was not showing up. I was responded with "it will take 3-5 days to process". After waiting a month for the credit to show, I sent a third email. The reply I got from this one stated they were only giving me the refund to keep me as a customer and since I canceled my campaign, they are no longer honoring the credit promised in writing. Is there something I can do about this? This can not be legal? Anyone have any experience with this? I am not sure what my next step should be.

You might want to contact your credit card company about doing a charge back...

Good advise. I think that will be a good starting point.
