We are hard at work rolling out a major upgrade to our systems and we are curious if people don't mind sharing some of the features they would like to see in PPC systems.

We are looking at adding:

* ROI Tracking
* Excel Upload/Download of keywords & bids
* 1 Account for publisher/advertiser
* Integration with GoToast
* Possible "offline" management
* Time of day management - "campaign hours"

What other nifty stuff do you like to have or would make your advertiser life much easier?

This is one of the few industries where I think customer service isn't the top priority.

The number one feature of a PPC is trust.
Number two is customer service.

The ability to dispute clicks easily. The ability to see a list of IP addresses where your clicks are coming from. If there is an obvious discrepency (i.e. average 30 clicks a day from a KW and get 500 one day), you not having to prove everything about fraud but them just crediting your account.

There are several small ppcs, that its not worth the man hours to prove to them its fraudulent clicking. Spending several hours of work to prove it to them for a $50 refund just isn't an appropriate use of time. Often its easier to just wave goodbye then worry about the costs.

ROI counters are nice, but many people don't want to give that info away.

Excel uploads are are a definate benefit.
Integration with GoToast is a must.
Affiliate search boxes (where anyone can sign up, not just a few select portals/engines) reduce trust factors.
Affiliate referrals for advertisers are acceptible.

Differentiators (for PPCSE and/or bid tool):
  • How long PPC data is retained
  • Bidding options/interfaces
  • How quickly reports are generated
  • Analytical finesse, e.g. how broad/phrase/exact keywords are grouped
  • Built to handle Unicode data
  • User interface planned for multiple languages
  • Multiple currency support
  • Engineered for usability, e.g. direction of sorting, page titles, double-clickers
  • Fraud detection and penalties
  • Affiliate program - like AdSense
  • Multiuser accounts
  • Customer service/tech support

ByronM, I didn't know about MozDex' PPC system until finding this post. Can you tell us a bit about it in terms of searches/day and current # of advertisers?

Thanks,
