Hi I'm a relative newbie to this. I have been chatting off group with a few people about PPC. They seem to think that it helps in the early stages of running a good SEO campaign to buy some PPC in order to help Link Popularity.

Is this right - Surely it can't be that easy?

Thanks for any help on this!

I got a few links from amazon. Who new, I would end up on their product pages as the adwords content partners ads.

But I don't see any gain from that.

PPC is certainly a valid strategy in Internet Marketing, but don't believe anyone that tells you it will help your link popularity - at least not directly.

In most cases - these results are never spidered. They have robots.txt files preventing this - and even if they past that - the loong urls used for click tracking would not get spidered most of the time.

If you have a quality site - people will find you through PPC and might link to you.

The PPC listing itself won't do any good.
