Very unhappy with looksmart

The people at looksmart need to be replaced.

I opened an acct with them and in 12 hrs spend a grand. I called them, they adjusted the account and i got a few conversions. The the rep said we'll turn it up...Another $1500 12-hr period...another adjustment...andothe $1500 12-hr period. So I shut it of and emailed them. Now here it is a week later and I have yet to hear from them.

They did though go in and take back the last credit they had given me. Now I'm $145 in the hole for MAJOR CLICK FRAUD!

What are these idiots thinking?

(Same) old story. You paid tuition and were given a lesson. It's happened to the best of us. A wise strategy is to run a search here before jumping in next time, on any service you're thinking about using.

I received an email this morning that promoted looksmart, as with any other service for my first response was to run a search for the product/company name along with the keywords "disappointed" "unhappy" and "scam" one at a time. Sure enough, I turned up plenty of threads in which webmasters mentioned burning through their monthly budget in a day or a week, and getting absolutely no conversions. Some of the stories involved Looksmart emailing them after blowing thousands in a few days and telling them that they have partners, who in turn have partners, who in turn have advertising partners, suggesting that there's little to no control. Others mentioned having keywords they didn't select being included, or other activity they deemed as fraudulent.

So just doing a detailed search this morning told me everything I needed to know about their services, I'll stick to Overture and Adwords.

EnHance and 7Search are doing a ggod job for me.

As for Looksmart I got the to credit my acct twice after they blew through $1500 both times. The printed my account balance page along with all the emails and sent it to AMEX for a charge back...LOL

Time to put the screws back on the screwers
