Course of action

New to this game and a few weeks before site is up.

I produce my own herbal weight loss product. It will retail for $297.00 USD for 3 month supply. Have a free ebook 284 pages to offer as well.

Since I make the product, the profit margin will be significant, about $237.00 Any suggestions about ppc, affiliate marketing, seo etc. Could any experienced marketers, given this product, price point and margins etc., steer me onto a first course of action, considering I’m new to the game, with very limited budget and adverse to getting my teeth kicked out before I get going.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

First thing you'll need is to get some exposure to your product. Adwords at Google is the quickest way I know. This will be a very competitive market I'd guess.

An affiliate program would work as well. Get one set up and contact the top sites promoting similar products. Offer a percentage of the sale and see if they'll help sell it for you.

As for margins etc, that really depends on your goals and marketing. What do you want to make out of it. How much can you afford to give to others helping you sell?

It will take some time to get rolling, but following these steps, and others as I'm sure you'll find will help you.

Yes Dan (cannonfodder) thank you for your post. I have been sloshing through the various affiliate, seo, adsense and other options trying to get a handle on step one. But like you say it will take time. I am tempted to spring for SEO ELITE but getting sandboxed 2 weeks out of the gate creeps into my mind. There is plenty of crap out there to siphon off your greenbacks with little payback.

IMO....with a product like this the text on your page is incredibly important. You need to find the perfect motivational text to get someone to spend $297 on a product they've never heard of...a standard web page will not sell much, you need a high energy / infomercial style page......
