Ok, I'm learning this stuff as I go along, so please bear with me. I have a ystore, and when the meta keywords were added to the home page, it also transferred all those same keywords to every page - meaning no matter what page in my site I am on, if I view source, it's all the same keywords, and most of them do not relate entirely to the pages they are on. I have since been told that it is a good idea to have each page optimized with it's own set of meta keywords that pertains to what is on the page, ie: if one page contains strictly "blue widgets", then all the keywords on that page should pertain to "blue widgets". What do you think?

Me again - should have tried searching this site a little more thoroughly before I asked this question! Looks like I need to put different meta keywords on each page.

Yep, each page should be treated individually. Along with the KWs, the same applies for the <description> and the <title> tags.

Most SE's either ignore the meta KW tags and description tags now or place very little value on them. However, I would bet that most people still take the time to write them, me included.

And keep in mind the <description> tag has other uses beyond the SEs. If someone is going to link to your site, that description is often what is used. So try to write one that not only has KWs, but will also entice someone to visit your site.

The <title> tag, however, is one of the most important onpage factors - arguably the most important. Take the time to write a good one and don't be afraid to experiment.
