hello all,

some of you may know me on the forums. but anyways, I'm doing my first optimized site and having a little bit of trouble.

The site is only a PR 3. I'm using CJ links as well as Adsense.

I am now taking the CJ links off as I'm losing adsense traffic to CJ. People are going to CJ links but not buying anything, so I discontinued the CJ links.

The site has over 20 backlinks but Google sees 5 and Yahoo sees one.

I had a very hard time with the linking campaign, of course it's still ongoing, but after 400 linking requests I had only 20-25 backlinks built (which the engines don't even see).

I was hoping I would get onto google and yahoo for the optimized keywords, even with a PR 3 I should still be somewhere in the results, but I'm not.

I'm wondering if someone (an experienced optimizer) with a little bit of extra time would like to give me an appraisal on how well I am doing optimization wise?

It would be very much appreciated. Just ask and I'll sticky the URL.

Thanks a lot.

Sticky me the URL. the links would be les sthen PR4 if now showing yet, anyways all links are good. Keep trying and get more links and try to get more relative links. Works great and it also gets you traffic then just PR benefit!

Better invest your time in building more usefull content, i launched my site 6 weeks ago, and after 4 weeks i already had a PR4, and google sees only 2 backlinks. This is my tactic:

-Make sure the site has lot of content when you launch it (my site is dedicated to a music label, when we launched the site had already 600 records in the database, with tracklisting, lyrics and scans of the covers), and offcourse a lot of biographies.

-Try to find editors for your site who can add usefull content, i.e. we found a guy who has one of the leading sites of the leading artist of the label, we made him believe we did HIM a favour, so now he is linking to us for free, AND he is giving us great new content, other good thing is that a lot of people from his site check our site too!

-Make sure your page is updated regular, or else add a forum, a forum is a easy way to get daily fresh content on your site.

-If you trade links, make sure the links are related to decent sites.

-Google is NOT everything, i know a lot of people who get a lot of visitors, because they picked keywords very smart, but in the end most of their visitors are NOT interested in the information on the website, so only waste of bandwith.

Hi markis00
I wud like to tell u that just read more and more articles regarding Link Popularity on SEO related sites. I found this to be a good one to find related directories: <snack>

You need not spend much for trading links, just read some articles and get going with it. Following this I'd created a link Popularity of 534 for a domain in 3 months, without spending even a penny for external resources.

I hope it helps.

Wish u luck
Vani
