commas in meta-tags

use of commas to seperate keywords

I recently read in an article that you don’t need to use commas to separate keywords in a keyword meta-tag content, Is this true?

You can uses spaces, but concentrate on what's on the page, not behind it. Meta-keywords have long been 'downsized' by the major SE's.
