Hi all

I have been trying to get some info on the Virtual Disk Service in .Net Server. They say its a configuration utility for configuring from the OS. They say something about enterprise storage. Does anyone have more info on this. Any kind of information will help.

Thanks in advance

NFS (Network Filesystem) is a non-microsoft term for it. Maybe search using that instead. Basically they both mount the filesystem of another server.

Actually in my first search in the microsoft site I came across this line.

Virtual Disk Service (VDS) on Windows .NET Server – this new service allows configuration of RAID from within the operating system.

After that there really is nothing much told about this any place else. I really got curious and was wondering if I could learn more on this. Although I think it might allow remote configuring I am not sure if it is the same as NFS. Is it??
