Poll: What web stats service do you use?

I'm curious to see what the webmasters here use...

I use BBClone. Its very affordable (Free: GPL) and doesn't use a database. All it requires is PHP and could be called an in depth PHP web counter. I recommend this to sites with small to medium traffic as it shows more than just aggregated data. I use it as I can check everything very quickly anytime any place.

I use weblog expert lite to analyse my referrals in further detail.

All my analysis costs me absolutely nothing and okay the programs aren't as powerful as some of them out there, but as a starter pack I'd definitely recommend them.

Can someone tell me more about Urchin Pro Trackin System? What's the cost for just the tracking report? I thought I saw somewhere it was $35.00 for the year. Is that right? I also saw that Urchin3 and Urchin4 was hundreds of dollars a year, why the big difference?

If Urchin is $35.00 a year how do you order it? Their website is kind of weird. Can anybody help me with answers to these questions? Thanks.

I'm using Hitbox Enterprise. Hands down, this suite is top notch and one of the best I've seen. Also worth noting, Hitbox just grabbed NetIQ's number two guy, Rand Schulman...that's quite an acquisition.

We started with WebTrends and moved to NetTracker last year. Happy with Nettracker at the moment.

The very first steps were with Analog (provided by the ISP), but then I switched to WebTrends and followed several versuions until version 7.

With version 8 they swithced to what I call a Client/Server concept. This means that the actual software runs as a service, and you access it via the web browser. A lot of companies do this: among other NetTracker.

Am I the only person who doesn't like this?

I like standalone software! Something I install on MY box which I can start up when I need it and shut off when I don't need it. I don't want the log analyzer running on its own accord. I don't want it to hang around in my precious work memory consuming a bit of my precious CPU power.

But it seems all modern packages don't come standalone anymore?

Urchin4 here - just that fact that I can set-up differnet language interfaces for my clients in two clicks makes it all worth while.

That is because the asp/service model is so much easier and stress free. You don't have another application to worry about, nor having to back it up, etc. It's just simple, it's there when you need it and you don't have to worry about it.

You got me wrong.

I was not talking about hosted (or ASP) models (which I don't like too), but about instead of having a "normal" Windows program which I can start and close now having a "server process" running in the background (or on a different PC) and a web-browser to interface it.

I CAN see the advantages of this concept. I just don't like it.

Been using internal tracking but also happily use WebTrendsLive for which I found their tracking to be accurate and to provide more than enough info for just about everytype of stat I could ever need...

As far as I can tell there are at least two different "clickstream" stats companies: one British and one South African.

We use the British one, which can be installed on a number of different server platforms and tracks cached and offline traffic using first-party cookies.

The South African seems to be Windows/SQL specific and runs via ASP scripts. I have no idea how good it is.

Hi!

I'm looking for a service that will track hits and the path each user takes after entering into the website. Can anyone suggest a service that will do that?

OR, I'd like to at least see some stats which pages are getting hit the most.

Can anyone make suggestions for that?

THANKS!

We use OpenWebScope on our webserver with 100+ domains.

The good thing is that it can be localized (Danish)
The bad thing is that it can't run as a service and therefore will stop when we log off the machine.

Anyone knows any good statsprogram that:

Will run as a service
Be stable
Can be localized
[Add good stuff here]
