I know there have been some massive changes across the Travel section recently, but this is either a mass SERPs clearout or a penalty for moi.
Any one else had similar experiences in the last 48 hours or so?
Don't panic unless you are gone for two days in a row.
however - I feel there are two indexes with one being slightly ahead of the other so if you are off one it may become permanent. Although I've been off some indexes only to be included right before that index version becomes the major/older index.
Either way Yahoo are calculating their rankings using a much larger pool of sites/links recently and you can expect the serps to be dancing around quite a lot.
For me Yahoo is seeing the world as black or white. If you cross the line you are gone, if you don’t you are fine.
Although I will be very old before they get anywhere near crawling my sites on a level that Google, Ask or Gigablast(!) (and it appears the new MSN) have.
I agree that they seem to be switching between two indexes.
My only objectionable practice, according to the Yahoo guidelines, is that I used to have my sites heavily interlinked (out of sheer ignorance, I've been doing this for less than a year now). When I found out what a no-no that was, I removed all the cross linking between my sites almost 2 months ago. Since Yahoo is so slow to crawl a site, I'm wondering if they are still seeing all the cross linking that is now gone. If so, does anyone know if appealing their decision to drop my sites is even a possibility?
Try to see if your sites show up on overture and hotbot the inktomi search, my site is there.

P.s if I do a link check, it shows 2000 sites linking to my site, what about yours any changes there.
Then this AM - not showing but four pages but not home page. When I search for site:domain.com a bunch of sites that have linked, framed, or used my url on there page.
Oh, well back to square one.
By the way, it is a real estate. Just like travel, real estate sites are the industry Yahoo likes to beat up on.

IMHO I find that a bit hard to believe - removing sites for more than a few days simply sounds like a ban and therefore the site would be blacklisted... I doubt it would be a 3 month blacklist as such?
The blacklist think is simply a joke to me, I bet most of us have been listed/spidered at the same time way back and sometimes when they make changes tothe serps, we are gone because of something technical or software related.
