We are considering hiring some dedicated telesales personnel who will be responsible for the lead generation/sales of our web development and SEO services.
We have a general idea of what the salary and job descriptions should be but were wondering if anyone with experience in hiring for this specific position would like to offer advice?
We are based in Staines, Middlesex - which is really Surrey but is sometimes classed as Greater London. The job would be full time telesales specifically for the Web Development/SEO team.
I’d be grateful for any advice, case studies, information, salary surveys, etc regarding
a. The general base salary for SEO/Web Dev TELESALES people
b. Their OTE (how much commission do they expect to earn)
c. Any job descriptions for this sort of role (what to put in the recruitment adverts)

Basic salary is £15,000 with additional commissions of another £15,000.
I see telemarketing jobs at around 14K, some with small amounts of commission other with more, depends what is for sale
I would say that you are looking for quite experinced people. Not the sort who sell kitchens, you need quality lead generation/profiling so oyour sales team can go in an close.
Cold calling will be hard in this area. You could send out direct mail and then follow up, more likely to get angle in.
To earn this they make the company a fortune along the way. Some sell more some sell less but they are all big hitters and the company does well.
We had trouble finding the right peole but now we have there is no looking back. My advice would be to not stint on quality in this area. Web Sales are getting harder and while there is money to be made the difference between success and failure is simply talent.
Look for good SALES staff as opposed to just telesales.
