Yeah pretty old. Looks like it has not been updated from when it appeared on the 29th... and it still looks to have the same errors as when it was rolled out.

oK.. this is nuts... a new blog I started 4 months ago is up to PR4 from PR0. My main site is stuck at PR2. This cannot be correct! I've hardly done anything significant on my blog for it to be worthy of PR4!

It looks like only pages from sites with a PR0 home page (recent sites) get an updated PR. I cannot see a page with PR>0 having its PR updated.

I agree inbound, new BLs reflect old data (april or may?)

I am seeing an old site with 5pr internal pages showing Page Rank update - down + up

Its will probally take a few days, I have been monitoring a few dc's and I see it spreading across all the dc's. It is very sporadic and random though. I guess I will keep watching it and scratching my head.

I had a PR5 that dropped to PR0 (3 years old, 60k pages, grey hat)

A absolute white hat that dropped from 4 to 0.

And a 7-week-old site that went from 0 to 5! WOOHOO!

I have never seen an update spread this fast. I had a site go from solid PR7 to solid PR6 accross 15 DCs during the time it took me to jog 3 miles this afternoon (I'm not that slow).

I lost one nice PR8 backlink last month from another website's top blog archive when they redesign their site :-( Most likely this caused my small drop.

All my other sites are staying the same.

Could it be true? This is a disaster... not only are backlinks way down, but it seems the lowest quality links I have are the ones being displayed... I have no faith that BD is capable of a legimate PR... disgrace.

I just checked 32 sites I manage and none of them have a change in PR--and some of them are new since the last update. Practically all of them have a change in backlinks however, usually cut in half.

Most of our sites are being updated. In one site we have internal PR of 4 and 5 all over the place but the index is still a three.
Another site that is only three months old is at PR6. We had two inbound links from a PR8 and three from a PR7. Nice ot have the PR6 at the index but it doesn't seem to have filtered throughout the site. I guess it's just to new a site.

I am seeing - for a new site:

Home Page from 0-5 (Root)

Level 2 - Page Rank 5 (cross linked via every page on my site)
Level 3 - Page Rank 4
Level 4 - Page Rank 3
Level 5 - Page Rank 2
Level 6 - Page Rank 0

This is a portfolio section that doesnt get links except through a linear course.

Other pages not linked from the home page and in this linear portfolio (ie below level 6) have all moved supplemental.

Correction. the PR tool I was using must have been on a datacenter that hasn't updated PR yet but Backlinks are updated as I found some new sites with PR that has been updated by using Mcnameless (but backlinks are not showing there).

Also out of 32 sites I checked it appears that anything less than about 80 links in Yahoo = 0 links on Google and most other links have been cut in half except for one site that has over 6,000 links in Y! shows only 36 in G. But most of those are probably junk links.

Another interesting thing--my own site, where I only submit to sites passing PR--my links were not cut in half--they are only a little bit lower than usual and I've been dropping a few links myself.

So that leads me to think that Google may be not showing any links until they get to around 80 and it is mainly cutting junk links.

My main site has about 800 links in Y!.
Used to be 67 links in G!. Now it's dropped to 14. Some of the solid links from PR4 & PR5 sites have been dropped.

My other blog which I just started has only 7 backlinks but it's gone to PR4! It must all be rubbish.

My back links have also been cut in half. To all of you who have lost back links, were you negatively affected on June 27th? I was hit hard on June 27th and now my back links have been cut in half. Could the events be related?

At this point anything goes. It is my thoughts that even google has no idea as to what they are doing anymore. Too many websites to accurately make any sence at all with rankings anymore.

I truly believe if you are lucky (like the lottery) then you will rank well on Google.

If you are hard working (good content) but not lucky then your number does not get picked and you rank at the back of the pack.

There are just too many good quality sites that do everything right (white hat) and still can't get anywhere.

On the flip side there are tons of crappy sites with no business at all (black hat) being ranked at the top but yet they still do.

Why? Because Google no longer has a clue and is now being over run by the internet.

At this point its simply a crap shoot!

Hurrah for new PR! This is way better than having your site indexed correctly. It's about time Google got down to the important stuff like updating PR so it reflects actual rank from our grandfather's youth.

Wow, this is the worst case scenario that could have ever happened. Everything is screwed up...not only PR, but also links... My site which has about 4K inbound links shows just 39 on google... Another site of mine which is blog (3 months old) got PR3 on this update and still shows just 10ish inbound link, when I perform link: query...The links are just from my own domain or from another one, but from different pages... very weird...

Something is messed up as I can see.... I hope I am wrong, but it looks like so.

For weeks several of my sites show PR6 from some DC's and PR0 from others, and these results are live TBPR as from my office I see PR0 and last week I was on vacation and I was getting PR6 from the hotel connection. Google is broke.

Big Daddy seems to be unable to assign PR. The last effective PR update was in Feb.... the last gasp of the old google. Since BD went live there has now been two highly flawed updates... and no one from google seems to acknowledge this... google is broke.

Joe Blow websurfer could care less what PR is and how does he know that the real sites have been removed from the index. A site is a site is a site right? Good old Google. It's to web search what Evian is to water. Oh wait, Evian is naive spelled backwards.

When I'm the "joe blow surfer" I certainly get frustrated when i put in a search for "widgets" and the site that I usually find on the front page is nowhere to be seen.

The question is: Does "Joe surfer" usually bookmark pages or do they expect the SERPS to remain fairly constant over time?

G's been "broke" for a couple years now and we are just now seeing the electrical tape that's been holding it together quickly unraveling.

Anyone reading between the lines of Eric's and Merrill's recent comments can see that they are very subtly stating this. ie. "storage concerns", "bad data push", "link spam war"

For a normally closed-mouth company, they have certainly issued a surprising amount of problematic "anomalies" in the past few months, eh?
