My site has just bounced back finally from the big drop we had on the 26th April. I'm interested to know if the others (Hollywood, Jim Lahey etc..) who experienced the same have seen a similar improvement or if its down to something I've done specifically with our site.

ror file..

What's that?

Do you constantly add pages, for it to need to be refreshed daily?

Here's some info on ROR.... I don't rate it much but someone with more knowledge might disagree.. [rorweb.com....]

I change a little bit on wording on as many pages as possible each day to show that the site is not sitting stagnant. I also resubmit the Google sitemap everyday.

"I also resubmit the Google sitemap everyday."

Do you find this being useful?

You click on the resubmit button within Google Site Map?

F_Rose >> Tell us more about your sitemap..What do you consider a good sitemap?

I meant when I established a sitemap... i never had a sitemap with google, but when i added one (i used one of the programs google recommends to create it), the pages just magically reappeared. they're still there, btw, about 10 days after.

Dunno how, but I finally escaped the April 26th Goggle blanket of doom. All symptons are gone and I am now ranking again.

site:myuniquedomain.com

.....index page shows 1st

myuniquedomain
"myuniquedomain"
"myuniquedomain.com"

......now show as first entry. For those still afflicted do not give up hope. I think joining sitemaps and sending off a reinclusion request is what ulimately pulled off the blanket. It took about 2 -3 weeks after sending off request before I saw a recovery. Total time out was exactly 3 months. Not sure if that 3 month figure is significant? Bad website you get a 3 month time out?......or if it just a coincidence.

I'm back too! Just right now!
And no - I didn't submit a sitemap - only a reinclusion request (10 june 2006, so about 2 weeks ago).

Oh, and I'm now at better positions than ever before for most of my keywords (about two or three positions higher than before).

But still I'd like to know what happened:)

Now I am down to 22 pages out of 348..... despite all my work. MSN, YAHOO and all the others are great.... but Google is a disaster. My pages wre all template pages with varying content. I removed the template aspect and the site still went down. I went through each page and added more content... no avail..... I resubmit a sitemap everyday and am now wondering if I should get rid of it completely and depend on an ordinary site map....

My site has been around since 2003 and is a PR 5. In my original post I said a 3 month time out...it just seemed that long. I was put in a 2 month time out by Google, but they never told me what for

Congrats to both of you, this gives me hope that things will spin for me as well!

As for my site, I have tried the re-inclusion about 5 weeks ago with no response or results. However I have set my site up with a site index and put it in to google sitemaps. Since then my site has been getting crawled by google at a normal pace. (prior to the sitemap upload and following the kiss of death on april 26th I was getting about 1 to 2 google crawl hits a day only). Since then in the past two weeks my site first had about 500 pages in the index. My site actually has abour 2000 in reality. Then last week my page total jumped to 1000, then currently at around 10,000! Also, no pages are supplemental according to the site:www.site.com command.

However, my keyword placements are still on the page 3,4 and 5 penalty where I should rank on page one in the top 5 positions in my niche.

My site is also from around 2003 and varies from a rank 5 to rank 6.

Hopefully I can post that I have recovered along with the fortunate few soon..

JimLahey & Konrad,

How old are your sites? ~ How many inbounds do you have?

about 18 months old, G says I have 51 links, msn reports 1261 links.

My site actually has abour 2000 in reality. Then last week my page total jumped to 1000, then currently at around 10,000! Also, no pages are supplemental according to the site:www.site.com command.

In my case site:domain results used to jump up and down during the last 3 months, there was/is no logic in it. Now it's actually lower (about 500) than yesterday (about 1900). And the supplementals start at about 200 - no change in this case. And GBot visits my pages exactly as in the past (again, no changes here).

So if I undestand this correctly, your site has not recovered from the supp. problem. What's your PR?

My website's PR is 5.

I was never worried about "supplemental" problem. Maybe only as a symptom/reason (but that's just a theory) of this:
[webmasterworld.com...]
as I call it: semi-penalty, for an unknown reason. (My website was on page 4 or 5 even when searching for my own domain name).

Now it looks like this and the "supplemental" problems are completely separate issues.

"I recovered, only after putting adsense banners on my site...."

Same here..

We have recovered after adding adsense to our site, the recovery was for couple days only..

As of today we are back with the same old crap..

Just can't figure out why Google is doing this for us?

It did the same to me, added me a few days, dropped me. Then it indexed again.

I just had a similar experience to AustrianOak. Since Apr 26 my site count has hovered around 670 (I post counts every few days to a spreadsheet). Today it is up at 17,000! Yet serps on keywords and unique site name are way down still and there is no change in G traffic.

What would be interesting to know from any of those people who had a 'resurrection' is did they notice a site count lift beforehand? Or am I grasping at reeds here?

This week-end we finally bounced back a bit. Our top notation was about 11k in April and now we're at roughly 5k after 7 weeks at 150. A big part of our third layer is indexed and we see a 90 % increase in Google traffic.

Since we're a consumer-review-site it is essential for sales that the companies that are reviewed find them-selves on our site via google.

Let's hope that google finally has got it's act together.

I recovered from March 30 drops today. I had lost 80% of the traffic. Today SERPs are excellent and traffic is back.
