Uhmmm....how do I know if they are test results or standard results....apart from seeing possibly seeing varying results?
Based on movements and improvements in that DC, Also Dayo has good experience in differentiating DCs, I agree with him, test DC is offline for more than 24 hours and this is not new, guys at google bring the DC online for testing and take it offline possibly for furthur improvements,
You're just not seeing the new index on that particular DC. I'm not being a jerk about this response, in fact, all of your suggestions are possible.
I can tell when the new results are running because I have fewer pages indexed in the new DC. For example, on all the "standard" DCs, I'm showing from 985 - 989 pages using the site: command.
On the new DC, I am showing around 700. In fact, each time the DC reappears I have more pages (585 - 650 - 770...). I guess no one knows for sure, but there are some differences that some folks do notice.
The test DC has pages crawled by Mozilla Googlebot listed - if you have a site or just a page which you know Mozilla Googlebot is the only one to visit then you can easily tell if the test data is displayed or not.
There are other things which are different - eg Homepage Canonical Problems etc - once you know what to look for then you can see when the test data is there or not.
But for lots of folks there probably is not much different I guess.
If only they listed all pages crawled by that Mozilla bot though :sigh:
I think you hit it on the head, and hence my confusion Dayo, when you said many people may not notice much difference, as apart from positioning being insignificantly different, I can't see any difference. But then its a purely selfish prognosis, as I only check my own main site.
I'm also working on my fireplace (starting Tuesday). It used to be white brick. I'm refacing it with a subtle mosaic tile and a shaker style wood front. Tiled on Tuesday, wood cut and installed yesterday, minor adjustments and priming today. (I'm off from my regular job this week).
Looks much better than I even expected (and my expectations are pretty high). I'm working off a picture that my wife found in a magazine. Now if only Google would help me out I could hire someone to do all this work around the house...
Come on Google, papa needs a new pair of shoes...
I went from 4,500 hits from Google a few days ago to 250 hits yesterday. I haven't changed a thing, and from what I can see, my site hasn't been dropped.I don't know what's going on, but this doesn't look good at all...
The same thing happened to my site I was recieving around 3,500 and I'm now recieving 300-500 hits a day.
I'm not worried at this point I'll wait 2 weeks - a month before I become desperate and lost lol.
1st site - sandboxed - nice allinanchor results but nowhere in "normal" results
2nd site - all ok - nice results
3rd site - nowhere in results and nowhere in allinanchor LOL using same strategy (very niche keywords and misspellings)- have a no idea what's going on with this one...maybe sandboxed and maybe who-#*$!in-knows
4rd site - as above...
what a disaster
Should I even be paying attention to weather I am supplemental in the Test DC.. or should I only take note of www/non-www issues.
The reason I ask is, I can hardly take the anxiety. My site went URL only around Sept 22nd, and this index would put me back on the map if they let it spread. I'm just clinging to a thread of hope that is only held together by the minute possibility that the filter/penalty that killed me in the SERPS has already been applied to the Test DC... wishful thinking on my part most likely.
In the test DC a few days ago I was back in googles results at #17 .. when the test dc went away and came back ive now been moved to #28.. I'm getting a bad feeling that they are going to keep making changes before they implement and I'll eventually be thrown out again. Its tough considering I've lost 70% of traffic because of jagger. Everything rests on this Test DC for me at the moment..

I'm seeing the same thing, my pages dropped in this last round on the test center. I started at around 585 and grew each time it appeared, maxing at around 740.
I'm currently showing around 580 again. Perhaps this was a rollback with a tweak, who knows... I doubt this lower number is going to stick - Googlebot has been very aggressive this month, spidering enough to grab the entire site four times.
