Anyone have any guesses as to when we can expect a new systemwide PR update?

DanUKSW, you're probably hitting different data centers. The folks here can coach you about which ones are which, but 66.102.9.104 shows the directions that things are moving.

Strider, you're best bet is to use the dissatisfied link, the keyword jagger2, and then mention your nick (strider) and also call out for GoogleGuy.

Yes Zeus

But we know now that Google are serious about it and hopefully serious about a fix. So I assume that if the fix is not right they will want feedback etc until they do get it right.

At the moment each update more and more sites get caught out (so it seems to me) - it is not just me being selfish (obv. I want my sites to return) - but going forward Google need to make sure they get this right.

IMO etc - however, we should probably talk about it this time next week or a bit later.

DanUKSW
After checking my site's position on Google I was wondering why it is that I see different serps depending on whether I use BT as my ISP or Freeserve

Ranks will depend on which DC your default Google is resolving to. I would suggest you search on 66.102.9.104, since those results are the new batch of ranks.

>>I have come to learn that the first changes in an update are usually the important ones and the flux that comes afterwards is just a little tweak here and there. Jagger seams is no different from the rest so far. <<

I beg to differ. IMO, all parts of an updates are important. Allegra and Borboun are good examples. And then the "flux" which I still fear most ;-)

And fellow members who have been affected by Jagger1 would tell another story than yours, I Guess ;-)

McMohan, saw two from you. Both were valid and will be acted on.

But tonight, I'm going to sleep. :)

Question for GoogleGuy,

I really appreciate Google effort to fight spam!
But what about all legitimate site that got caught in the cross fire?
Is there any way to contact Google about it?

Cleanup/Reseller

Back in the old days - then I would agree - serps appeared on a dc and these pretty much were what you got.

Dominic and Esmerelda were the first times I think that things really seemed to be different.

(although with this update MC did sort of indicate on his blog that these were three seperate updates that are happening at the same time so could be thought of as one)

Night GG - this going to become a regular late night thing to send you to sleep :)

GoogleGuy

Thanks for paying so much attention and taking care of fellow members spam reports. Very encouraging indeed. Much appreciated.

And of course a BIG THANK YOU also goes to the other friends at Google WebSpam Team.
