What follows a BL update? SERP update? Algo change?

We just lost position dramatically in Serps for all
keywords including unique company name that had previously
moved back up to #1 and now shows #32 in results.
Is anyone else experiencing anything "funny" today?

One of my sites seems to have all but vanished from Google. If I type in the name even the .ru and other dubious sites appear before it.
The site still has a PR of 5 and is listed in DMOZ plus loads of other quality IBLs. What's annoying is many of the sites linking appear on the search but not mine.

The site's been gone for around 3 months now and I was working on the assumption that it'd sort itself out.

The site has been 100% legit for 3 months now. Previously I did have a big affiliate shopping section bolted on, but only selling highly relevant equipment. Strangely all these pages are still included in Google as Supplemental pages even thoug they return a 404.

Anyway, any ideas what's going on as it's beyond me and I can't get anything out of Google.

I checked three websites of mine and two of them tripled the number of their pages using site:my-domain-name.com

Gotta laugh at this one .. I have just done a site:www.mysite.com and found .. out of the 500+ UNIQUE pages of content 47 are showing and one of them is a very old link directory page

Backlinks are updated and starting to populate. I noticed this update started.... September 3rd (just like I predicted).

There is a BL update going on in a few datacenters... I have been watching closely for anything to show up for my recently 301'd domain name... so far it looks like this is just a BL update but none the less it is happening in at least these two DC's.

PR for my old domain is 0 in some DC's (was PR 4 and is still in most DC's) but still 0 accross the board for the new domain. Would this indicate a PR update as well?

Oh I think the "Update" has just begun myself. I have 2 good sites that rank great in google in same serps same keywords everything.

Last update Site #2 Home Page disapeared, TPR disapeard, this is only for Home Page. Then a day or 2 later individual pages started to go bye bye, along with TPR. Meanwhile site #1 perfect no losses.

Now Site #1 doing same exact thing. Home Page gone from serps, no TPR nothing. Other pages have PR and are in serps. I have a feeling I'll watch each page one by one drop out, then all come back like site #2 did.

Thats what happened in the last update, and that whats happening now, I feel the "Update" is on now or iminant.

I also believe this update has just begun... my guesstimation is the early morning hours of Labor Day (the irony is not lost on me) will probably be very active in terms of DC's fluxing.

Question for the more seasoned SEO's:
Has Google in past history ever done a PR, BL and ALGO change all in the same week? Doesn't seem likely but I was curious.

I checked another "authority" site and same deal happening to it. This is a site in my area. My sites #1 and #2 are a bit bazaar on some points with Google.

They never ever have dates below them, even though they are spidered dailly and the cached pages are fresh as well. In addition the #1 site for instance if you typed in "Widgets" it has a seperate line below the serp saying "blue widgets" "green widgets" "red widgets" and each of those widgetrs below my serp is a link to an internal page in the site selling the widgets, its strange, and no other sites in the serps I watch has this.

I believe that my sites are in a more permanant index, hence they never ever have dates while the other sites in the serps do. So I think Google has a index within the index.... If I'm right my site will come back, suffer for a week prolly. Meanwhile we will have another Update XXXXXXX thread going and part 2 and part 3 like last time.

As to this morning I still see different sets of serps through out the DCs. Especially one set where site #3 drop out of top 10, for my testing keyphrases related to advertising and marketing.

Therfore...its not over yet ..Folks.

I don't know if this is from an update whatsoever BUT watching some SEO-related results on top of SERP I see one website using heavy sub domain crosslinking to rank its website and GOSH it actually WORKS!

I though this was considered as spam as well and controled by search engines but with little incoming links (other than their own sub domains) this SEO company managed to rank all sub domains on the 2 first pages og Google...with a PR0

Am I missing something or they will get caught quickly? Or is it an ethical behavior...not sure what Google (and actually MSN) are doing right now....?

In my sector most sites have updated backlings and changed positions. As an example local searches (in finnish) are still unchanged.

My main site is not yet back from the dead were it went during august (as many other sites).
