While speaking today, Daniel Dulitz of Google said the update will happen within 48 hrs and that is as specific as he will get.

He's talking about the Freshbot Update! I'll bet actually you believed him.

They are actually running a test to see how fast a speaker's message appears in blogspace. It will be 48 hours between the time the speaker utters the news and the time the freshbot captures the rumour.

Yeah, I used to just look at my site's ranking every few months or so. I had no clue there even was a monthly Google update until I found this forum. Too bad there's no going back! Ignorance really was bliss.
