www2 and www3 are the same as each other and 5 mins ago www was also the same as these two.
Now www is different - by virtue of the fact that 2 and 3 have changed.
I get the feeling this is not the dance we are used to.
www2 seems to be ahead of the rest at the mo.
Its on - and I dont care about the usual yahoo link counts. Its on - but it looks like a new process.
hmmmmmmmmm - where are these guys actually messing with their databases.
Check your own terms asap so we can narrow the new process down - dont wait till someone tells you the yahoo backlink count has changed.
Fiver. (Giz A)
Every month a new Fiver comes along, not understanding the index update.
1) No one has completely figured out how the update works and how www2 and 3 exactly are involved - we just know they are ahead of www.
2) Google can change their update procedure any time they want, without notice.
3) I think Fiver_321 is essentially right. I doubt that Google is so stupid as to experiment with their live databases. The real update may take place somewhere on their internal servers and be transorted to the web, probably starting at www2/3.
So I invite anyone with new insights to share them with us.
He also stated that even between data centers and individual servers at the data centers, you can see different results between searches.
There might be other indicators that the dance is starting, but I will stick with those for now.
How does one legitimate a hypothesis? - Indeed - any legitimation techniques you may have are themselves subject to interpretation - and therefore need legitimating.
No - anyways - not wanting to waffle or anything - there is something different about this month - and we all know it.
Fiver 321
(sorry Fiver - theres a story behind that but it goes back 2 years)
The problem is that you were announcing it as *fact* instead of stating it as a goal to try and find out if there is any meaning behind what was going on.
www2 and www3 are googles test servers. They make no claims as to the results that you see there. What you saw might very well have been part of the testing phase of the update, but it was not the start of the dance.
It all depends on how you state your point. Yelling that this is the update and trying to fit in your new hypothesis will always get you those responses.
I've read a thousand guesses concerning changes in Google's 'something-or-other'. I'm at a point with so much wild guessing, without a modest scientific basis from which to stand, that I can no longer accept even a suggestion of understanding (or hypothesis) from an unproven source.
Sorry if this offends, for it is fine to speculate for reasons of passing the time or socializing but I will take my Google information from those whom I've come to know and respect as previously mentioned.
