I'm just curious how many of you here get over 10,000 unique visits referred by Google alone. People are asking me what's the best you can do with Google optimization. I don't know how to answer them. Is there a 'limit' to how much visitors you can get from Google?

So could everyone please tell me the best month you have with Google? I also would appreciate if they can put down the actual number.

Let me go first... 5000

My site is still pretty new (only in Google for 2 months or so), but last month got just under 8k google referals. Should beat that this month (3.3k so far).

150,000 in July, but the Google Adwords keyword estimates suggest that my two main keyphrases get 2,300,000 searches a month!

Each monthy my traffic has increased at a rate of about 10 - 20 % monthly.

July was a great month with about 50,000 referrs with google and google "partner" sites like yahoo, and others.

More incoming links = more traffic ;-)

We've had great success with Google! We've managed to get millions of referrals a day, from both web results and our adwords campaigns.

Our site is a niche and very sensitive market (Also UK targeted): last month saw around 3500 unique visits from Google and Partners. Hits are growing almost every month, as long as Google keeps all our pages in their index then we are happy. We did loose 170+ pages 2 updates ago for no reason, but they are all back in. We do run an Ad-words campaign and are happy that our subject is not searched for much as this makes it very cheap.

Googleguy, are you on extra pay for working Sundays or are you one of the TOP guys at Google?

The reason I ask is because someone mentions a site that gets 150,000 unique visits from Google DAILY. I mean... with all these traffic, he can make enough money to buy himself an army of BMW while giving the rest to charity. It would be interesting to know how far Google can go.

GoogleGuy, very funny joke...

I just started building my site back in February, and the first few months were really slow. I mean I was only averaging about 70 search engine visits a month. Basically nothing. But following Webmaster World's advice on how to build a great site is working. This month I'm now on pace to have my best month with around 7,500 unique visits. And I haven't even paid for a Yahoo or Overture listing yet. There are no short cuts for hard work, and it's finally starting to pay off.

Best for Google referers, including some subdomains, 25k (probably least profitable).

Most profitable, 414 (as in 0.4k).

450!

I'd like to say it's 450k but i'm only up to (o) in Brett's '26 steps to 15k a Day'.

Umm.. Brett.. that is guaranteed, right?

1200 a day (so, 36k/month) last month.

There was one month when I pick 1st position on "Las Dos Torres" (The Two Towers), and I still have position 4 for "JRR Tolkien" (in Spanish).

Regards.

I don't always get access to traffic figures (on clients sites), but I think the biggest single puller I have is a single word #1 on Google UK, that Overture says got 4,212,221 searches last month. As I say, I can't tell you what traffic it brought in, but it's a hell of a lot. The same site has a few more single word #1s, the next biggest getting (on Overture) 1,841,440 searches.
So, to answer the question, god knows, but I would guess a few hundred thousand.

But that's just a guess. Traffic that I can actually verify, its just over 75,000.

Money back Deodato!

Do not, do not put any stock what-so-ever into what the Google numbers say for searches per month.

Rankings range from 1 to 4 under 9 searches that each supposidly get 1million plus each a month in searches. They average between 10 and 40 referrals a day. What's wrong with this equation?

I can find no correlation between what Google searches per month say, and referrals regardless of rankings. Zero, none, nada - it don't work that way on Google.

However it's looking like a different story on AOL. Eye raising stuff happening on AOL since the switch. Several good power kw searches are doing 100+ referrals a day. That's never happened with anything Google powered before on a regular basis.

10,362 in June and only looking at some of the regionals...I haven't done a set of figures for July

we were briefly number 1 on MSN for our top single keyword (for two months) even during that time Google remained our top referrer

ok, seriously people are we talking hits or unique visitors? I would be thrilled to have 50k or more unique visitors a month! I have a 2k page ecommerce site, obviously although people may have larger sites, this is a decent size site, I would love 50k or 60k unique visitors a month! If 10% of people bought that would make me very happy and busy! Can one seriously expect to be getting THAT many unique visitors a month!? I know a competitor runs a few million dollar business on the web, but that would be music to my ears to get this many unique visitors a month from google!

Helpmebe1
Well, I know what I said before with my keywords was a very, very rough (and idle) guess, but I know it's definitely my biggest one. So I am trying to find out exactly how many uniques this particular site got from Google last month, as opposed to blowing my own kazoo.
I suggest you look up Brett's notes on theming your site - done properly, the bigger your site the better you should rank, link-pop aside. With 2k pages you should do very well indeed.

Georged,
Thanks! I would love to see as many unique visitors as people are talking about. Can I trouble you to ask where I could find those notes on theming your site from Brett? I would like to read over them and make sure the site is cool.. can never read enough when it comes to this sort of stuff...

Thanks!

Georged,
Thank you! Actually looks like I am right on the money.. well took a year of research to build this site and redoing it three times! I never knew Dan put such information on his site, Thank you for the link! I will have to check out some of the links off that page and go over his site again. Thanks, I really do appreciate the link!

Helpmebe1, unique visitors...the figures that count for me are unique visitors and viewings of a number of specific pages (our sponsor's information being possibly the most significant)...we're getting over 10k from 12th place on our first choice search word, the majority from searches that feature that word...who knows what traffic will be like when I finally get in to the top ten

Eric, well actually everyone... best of luck! I am amazed by all these tens of thousand of visitors a month. I knew google was big but can not wait to hit the top spots, sure its going to mean another couple hundred hours of work, but so be it. Congrats and best of luck!
