Again, backlinks continue to be updated on 216.239.57.98 and the other 216.239.57.*

What you see in Google itself means nothing.

tomasz, the new backlink updated only occured eighteen hours ago! You appear to be talking about the update that was rolled back more than a week ago. Completely different thing.

Updated backlinks, Yahoo 569k
[216.239.57.98...]

Currently non-updated backlinks, Yahoo 474k
[216.239.53.99...]

And the craziness goes on, though this is not unexpected, the Google Directory has reverted (on many/most datacenters anywa) to the previous version when PR display wasn't screwed up.

yep the crazeness goes on ;-
Thread title: Backlinks appear to be updated; then they don't...then they do...blah
Maybe a google dance, but no change in the serps, strictly not come dancing.
What's the point?

steveb

I had been checking the google directory almost daily. I see what appears to be a rollback in PR in the directory also.

Odd, I now see about 15 new back links, but my PR dropped by 1, I didnt think toolbar PR would change this long after an update.

My toolbar PR dropped from 5 on Wed to 3 today. My backlinks went from 5350 to 28.

Any one else seeing such drastic change?

Not seeing any toolbar changes here. I've checked recently added pages too (a month ago) that should should show PR growth next update, no change.

Yeah PR has been updated for many sites maybe they are discounting those non existing pages ( [webmasterworld.com...] ) and updating the PR for these changes.

Mark
