I don´t see changes for any of our projects. A pretty new site (about 2 months old) with some incoming PR6 links still shows a toolbar-PR of 0.
Maybe we need to wait a day or 2 for the changes to settle down and to see how this affects the SERPS if any!
I think like most have noted, the Google Directory has still not been updated even though they are showing my DMOZ description & the ODP is showing up in my backlinks.
SO come on Google don't stop now Christmas is coming and lets have it all working like before with Good SERPS, PR & Backlinks being updated more frequently, daily or weekly would be very good and a big step forward in providing the fresh data where sites are ranked correctly at last.
One of my sites which I thought would go up in pagerank, went from 4 to 3, which another one which I thought had been penalised / banned (as it's been sitting on pr0 for ages), jumped from 0 to 4.
Most of my clients who don't have page rank yet, now have pr's of between 2 and 4.
But no charge in the SERP's.

Denied it was broken but fixed it again.
Is there a favoured datacentre for checking new backlinks, anyone?

Old PR was 4 on index
On .51 it's increased to 5.
On some others it's showing three - which was as it was before last update.
I don't think this is over yet? I know where I'm hoping it settles!

Rankings have remained the same though. Guess I will just have to start ignoring that green bar.

No matter how many links I get Google seems to be able to reduce them.
It could be just the internal links that have gone, as even though my links seemed to be vanashing I am still in the same top positions so all is well for now.
At the beginning of this year I and many mentioned that one day it would be possible for Google to update virtually daily or every two weeks, without having the dance.
Looks like its here now :)
I think that is obsolutely the correct decision.
PR is not that important any more - I see lots of PR4 + 5 sites ranking very nicely for majorly competitive SERPS.
Watch the SERPS - not backlinks - not PR - it is the SERPS that delivery the traffic and the ££'s or $$'s depending on which side of the pond you are.
There is no exclusivity with PR these days - all you gotta do is go out and buy a few links if you want high PR - I think this is Googles response!

Well across the river where we earn € things look more stable then the where a few months back.
Not sure what direction to concentrate on at the moment, backlinks seem to be less of an issue more anchor text it required these days.
I just build web sites these days, and try to put as much content as possible instead of over doing the SEO.
Interesting about no changes in the serps. Last time a bunch of fresh spamola was dumped in when the backlinks updated, but doesn't seem to be the case now. Have to see what happens the next 24 hours.
And PR has been updated too. But no changes in the rankings for my keywords. Okay my rankings were prety good before today so there is no cause to scream :-)
And waht I have experienced is, that there no more guestbook spammers in the Top results.
In fact there are a few, but there beacklinks have decreased dramatically. So it seems as if Google is simply ignoring guestbooks now.
From the point I see it now a very good update in backlinks and PR. Rankings are still the same as before. Do you think SERPS will move a little bit?
As in: showing fewer links. Yahoo's number is also down so
shouldn't mean much. No change in serps.
almost all my sites went from PR 3 to PR 5 today :-)
Much more backlinks than yesterday.

I put up one site, for fun - 15 pages - every page on the site a PR3. Took three days to build.
I put up another site, seriously - 60 pages - home page PR3 rest PR2. Took three months to build.
Frusterated yet? Nah.

The fresher new Google seems to have a fresher new Toolbar PR as well.
I'm noticing today that most pages that link to me are gray barred, which is very strange because they are all largely old pages on .edu, and .gov sites.
Anyone have a clue what's going on here?
Any ideas as to what is happening?
