script to check my position at google

i've seen it here somewhere, but can't find it

I've seen a script here at webmasterworld that is used to check inbound links and position for a certain keyword on www www2 and www3. I've searched for it, but can't find it...

Do you mean automated link checking on the Google index, if so...

Google webmaster tips:

Don't send automated queries to Google.

They could ban IP address's that do so, heard stories around here of it happening.

so is the following site in danger of getting in trouble?

top 25 web (remove spaces and add the most common suffix to the end)

I hope not because I have used that tool on a few sites...it is quick and effective.

...and what about using programs like webposition gold? to check serps?

What I meant was software that sends automated requests to Google to check your sites position for keywords, I would personaly keep away from!

If you want to chck all the data centers out in one go, then just search for Google dance tool on the big G.
