Can't make my mind up about this.

Let's say that i am writng a page about BIG BEN in London, for arguments sake, i find that most people type in the following when they search in Google:

big ben westminster
or
big ben london
or
big ben westminster london

I come to write my title (which i know should be a reflection of the page contents) - here's the question, will Google see the following titles in the same way or will one or more be penalised for using separators.

Examples of Title text:

No1
Big Ben Westminster London
simple, could use 'in' between Ben and Westminster, but i want to keep 'in' out of the title.

No2
Big Ben ¦ Westminster ¦ London
or
Big Ben - Westminster - London
or
Big Ben, Westminster - London
Breaks up the title, easy to understand (i think anyway) but will google ignore the separators and spaces and give the same serps as No1

I would appreciate everyone's opinion on this one.

I've used "-" in my titles with no problems, personally I wouldn't use a "," as it looks messy in the title bar. Not sure about ":" but WW uses them here so I guess they are ok, I don't recall seeing "¦" used much so can't really comment on them.

Google themselves use "-" and ">" in the google directory titles, take a look for yourself.

Simon.

I try to come up with titles without seperators. I use "-" when I have to: GoogleGuy prefers dashes in file names, why not use them in the title when need be?

I've used both ":" and "-" without any problems. I personally prefer the "-".

For Google "-" is like a space. So "word1-word2" is the same as "word1 word2".
